Not everyone (or even many) with Tourette's has corphilia

I just dealt with the issue of my minister having schizophrenia. The result of my choice was "kids are learning new words from their teacher". Just an observation, but corphillia is comparatively rare.

Rare, but not unheard of. I'm not seeing the problem here.

Indeed, and that effect line doesn't actually say they're learning swear words, just that the teacher is teaching them. It's a play on words. The inspiration for that option was Brad Cohen, a truly heroic individual.

Not sure "corphilia" is a word, btw.

In this context, it should be 'coprolalia'.

Absolutely. Corphilia is a weird girl's name, coprophilia is a scatalogical sex fetish. Coprolalia is indeed the term you want.

Users are learning new words from their issues editors. :P

Thank you for correcting that.

Hey all,

I came across this issue as well. I believe the situation with the issue response is that, even if Brad Cohen is the inspiration for this option, that concept does not come across the reader of this issue. The reader is going to view it as a play on coprolalia, not a positive. Brad is a close, personal friend of mine who has written letters of recommendation for me, and I don't forsee him picking up on even his own inspiration. To accompany the Brad Cohen inspiration for this component of the issue (and I do encourage you all to watch his great biographical movie Front of the Class), I would submit the following change to the issue:

Small children are learning new words in the front of the classroom from a man with Tourette's Syndrome.

This would 1) correct the name of the diagnosis and 2) provide a subtle nod to the character without altering the overall context of the finished product.
