The program automatically tells me which effect lines exist in the game. It doesn't tell me which issue and option number they belong on. The majority of the time I can make an educated guess, but sometimes the effect lines are obtuse enough that I need some help, and even when I can figure it out on my own it doesn't hurt to have confirmation.

Thanks for confirming the nature of the option.

I can confirm the effect line of 271 option 2 is indeed the same as for option 1, recently found it at War Dogs III. 8)

If you look at the draft thread, you'll see that effect line was my idea to begin with.

Hi there,

I wonder if the effect lines could be modified to read like a sentence: e.g. instead of having “bins outnumber trees in city parks”, it could be “Bins outnumber trees in city parks.” It would make updating issues on our wiki easier.

Best,

Effect lines aren't sentences in the game itself. They're sentence fragments.

Your main page displays a list of four effect lines strung into one sentence (all but the first will not be capitalized, all but the last will not end in a period), and your national happenings always give effect lines after "Following new legislation in @@NAME@@,". It's only with the introduction of the fast issues / results page feature in 2016 that formatted-as-a-sentence effect lines started appearing more than once in a blue moon (the other way to get them is on a brand-new nation which has only ever answered one issue), and that's a very ephemeral report compared to the more enduring information on nation pages.

My site displays effect lines accurately to how they are used in the game and to how aspiring issue authors are requested to format their submissions. It is NSindex's formatting that is incorrect.

Okay, I refined the presentation of the effect lines in Issues #1000 to #1099. Let me know if anything needs fixed, because I am happy to address any flaws in the wiki (the new navbox is still u/c, may be ready tomorrow).

I see you changed the wiki to indicate the sentence fragment nature by starting effect lines with ellipses now.

Naturally, it is up to you to decide the style guidelines on your own wiki. I am simply explaining why I am not beholden to them.

...Though really, if you're able to systematically overhaul so many issues in one day, I'm not sure why you were asking for me to make things easier for you to begin with.

Ah, thanks.

I though it looked like it had the right level of facilities-where-they're-not-wanted to fit on option 3, and my script hadn't spotted option 3's actual effect line until, coincidentally, half an hour ago. Turns out it's the only effect line that remained almost unchanged from your submission.

I don't know, when I posted it here, it was not in the list. I know it only updates at midnight, so maybe you got it the same day, but surely not earlier as I'd have seen it then prior to reporting. ;)

Ah, right. I suspected those, but I wasn't sure because the effect line for option 3 looks totally backwards. The only option which acknowledges the dangers of radioactivity and recommends taking appropiate precautions, gets the effect line where the radioactivity is causing problems?

That makes it sound less like the player is deciding government policy, and more like the player is deciding reality. If you're worried that the stuff might be dangerous, then it actually is and your precautions were warranted. If you're not worried that the stuff might be dangerous, then it isn't and nothing bad happens.

(Also, radioactivity is really not hard to test for. Geiger counters are easily portable. If there was any chance of the material being radioactive, someone should have taken a Geiger counter to the premises long before the issue was brought to @@LEADER@@'s desk.)

Hello! Thank you for making this! I have read your original post, but have not read comments, so please forgive me if this has been suggested before: It would be nice if the Results column was split into 3 columns (range, name, mean) so that it would be easier to read.
