Changes to old issues are usually harder to figure out than new issues. It's a needle-in-a-haystack thing.

Unfortunately, it's not that clearcut (...pun not intended). My timestamps confirm that the effect line which I currently have listed for #640 2 is definitely still in the game somewhere. Did you check the internal option numberings to see if there might be any variant options?

EDIT: I noticed that the reported version of the option reads "Auction them [the forests] all off to the highest bidder, foreign or domestic!", which made me suspect that socialist nations wouldn't be so fond of auctions. However, War Dogs XIII is capitalist, so this can't be it. My other idea, before that, was that it might depend on the level of your environment: nations with better environments (that actuallly have a decent number of @@ANIMALPLURAL@@ left) get the "woodcutter axes are cited as the most common cause of death amongst @@ANIMALPLURAL@@" line, while nations whose environments were already poor before they started cutting down what little is left get the "East Lebatuck tests its moon rovers in the barren wasteland of rural @@NAME@@" effect line. I cannot find any evidence of a validity for either effect line in my saved-up data.

There is, of course, the possibility that I just plain assigned the effect line to the wrong issue, but that seems unlikely. We don't have all that many issues about lumberjacks.

That's issue 79, option 2.

640, option 2 has always been "East Lebatuck tests its moon rovers in the barren wasteland of rural @@NATION@@".

Ah, thanks.

I had #79 2 listed as "the @@ANIMAL@@ is reportedly extinct", which I'm pretty sure was the real effect line at some point, but my timestamp shows has been changed before I started using my current program (probably because, no matter how endangered it gets, the @@ANIMAL@@ can never actually be driven completely extinct).

All fixed now, and I triggered an early upload so y'all should see the changes (and #1258) immediately.

No new effect today, sadly, as I had Issue 596 today. But there were only options 1, 3, and 5 offered to War Dogs XXVI, so I still have no clue what perquisites are there for that mysterious option 8. Similar to 1231, option 1 and 910, option 3. I even list the policies of nations I encounter these issues with to see what it could be, nothing stuck out yet.

Thanks for the reports. I'm actually most interested in #1261 options 1/3 right now, as I'm not 100% sure I assigned them the right way around. Nevermind, I just got the issue myself!

Huh, missed that post. So to find it I not only need a Monarchy but also an Absolute. More issues to solve!

Partly, I just put my assumption there but so far never got 1231 at nations without the No-Immigrations-Policy -- or missed it.

I got 910 quite often, compared to others, but never noticed that specific option. I can exclude only seemingly irrelevant policies so far -- after all, it's an issue about learning and control, so e.g. Polygamy should not play into options there.

Remember, there are backstage policies that aren't visible to players, and there are also option validities that depend on either a visible or backstage numerical score being above/below a certain threshold rather than a simple on-off flag, so while I thank you for taking such a close look at policies, it's not guaranteed to solve the mystery.

I think in issue 1264 you mixed up options' 2+3 texts. At Aragesh I just checked in option 3 (the CEO talking) and got the text
bargain hunters descend on disaster zones for a quick spot of grocery shopping

I shall try to double check again once I encounter the issue again. Just by checking both options' texts it also makes a lot more sense to have your lines of both exchanged.

I just answered option 3 on one of my own nations two hours ago, and got the effect line I was expecting. That effect line (which mentions "let them eat stale cake") clearly belonged on either option 3 (which mentions "goods near their expiry date") or option 4 (which mentions "storing long-life foodstuffs"), and doesn't make sense at all on option 2. There was another effect line which really only fit on option 4, so the rest was obvious.

I think there is a slightly higher chance that I might have mixed up the effect lines for options 1 and 2, but that's pretty unlikely considering.

I'm afraid you clicked the wrong button. Please remember that you can enable "Require confirmation before passing legislation" in your Settings, and also that even after you've answered an issue and the server will no longer show it to you, it's often still available in your browser's cache if you press the Back button, allowing you to double-check which option you answered.

Issue 1223, option 4 (reported a while ago before answering it now)
has, unsurprisingly, the same text as option 5 (no wonder as it has the identical option text, duh).

Wait so if the mean is a + does that lower your defense force rating? Did the one about the burning cathedral. So + lowers it while - raises it, or am I looking at this wrong?

+ means the value goes up, - means the value goes down.
However, look at the range too. Sometimes it can go either way, and the range will tell you that.

I took the opportunity to report that issue 1277, and here's option 3's result:
pro-wrestling bouts open with a legal disclaimer insisting that any violence is guaranteed 100% faked.

(found at BuccaRuu)

and option 2 reads
rugby players that knock each other over always stop to make sure the other fellow is okay.

aaand a new issue, 1276, option 3:
even immigrants complain that immigrants keep taking their jobs. (found at War Dogs XII)
