I have decent economic freedom, have a GPD of 3,333T with an average income of 230k.

  • I am in the bottom 40 players IN THE GAME for the basket weaving sector. I have NEVER in my life seen an issue that would boost this specific industry.
  • Furniture restoration?? I have never seen an issue to boost this industry, so today is the first day I ever found out this was a thing.
  • I have a fantastic environment and little environmental restrictions, but I'm in the bottom 100 for fishing?? I have never seen an issue to boost this industry.
  • I am pretty sure I have done some issues about farming, but my farming industry is still at -37.
  • I specifically remember that allowing prisoners to work in pizza delivery and allowing gay marriage DECREASE pizza industry. WTF? And why is there none to boost it?
  • Beverage sales???
  • I am in the top 100 players in the game for weaponization, yet my arms manufacturing is -40??????? I have never banned guns or placed restrictions on them. Supply/demand NS???

So here we go - please include more issue effects for boosting specific industries.

[list][*] I am in the bottom 40 players IN THE GAME for the basket weaving sector. I have NEVER in my life seen an issue that would boost this specific industry.

Some industries come up more often than others. However, at present there are 46 issue effects that directly code an increase in basket weaving, 129 that increase all industry (weaving included) and many, many more that affect weaving indirectly.

Your world position on basket weaving is largely due to those indirect effects - as you might expect, gloriously ancient nations like yours tend to skew pretty heavily one way or the other especially if they keep answering issues, hence the truly impressive IT industry your nation sports. The very low basket weaving? That's kind of simulation working as intended. When folk are more concerned with virtual furniture than with real furniture, and when an item isn't considered functional unless it has a machine-learning AI linked to the internet of things, well, traditional basket-weaving isn't really something that appeals. I mean, somewhere in that 14 billion there's probably a pinterest group dedicated to preserving this ancient art, but at a macro-economic level the industry isn't going to mean much to you.

Unless you want to change the direction of your nation, it doesn't seem likely you'll become a boss of Basket Weaving.

Bear in mind it's perfectly possible to be a world leader in IT and basket weaving at the same time, but it'd be a real juggle. Generally nations inclined to one are not going to be inclined to the other, thanks to a complex series of interlocking emergent effects.

[*] Furniture restoration?? I have never seen an issue to boost this industry, so today is the first day I ever found out this was a thing.

Heh, it's another rarely used one, and historically there's probably been more shift to that industry added as a secondary effect from increased construction (an industry which we shamefully don't track) than from furniture related narratives.

However, the first issue I ever edited? Furnished For Failure. Exactly because, as you say, there aren't enough issues about this industry!

[*] I have a fantastic environment and little environmental restrictions, but I'm in the bottom 100 for fishing?? I have never seen an issue to boost this industry.

Ah, those bloody environmentalism externalities. I have superb culture, freedoms, open borders, low taxes, a slew of tourism-friendly initiatives and plentiful shopping, but do I get tourists? No. Because of those externalities.

It's one of those things the simulation has always massively overplayed, and which I have flagged repeatedly, and for which a technical fix is apparently one day incoming. Though I've been waiting a couple of years now, so I am sure there's a job queue somewhere.

[*] I am pretty sure I have done some issues about farming, but my farming industry is still at -37.
[*] I specifically remember that allowing prisoners to work in pizza delivery and allowing gay marriage DECREASE pizza industry. WTF? And why is there none to boost it?
[*] Beverage sales???

Yeah, these are complicated emergent figures. Basically, you're a huge nation with massively skewed stats. If your simulation wasn't amusingly wonky, I'd have been surprised.

My guess is that when Max coded this game, he never envisioned it being played for a decade or more, and didn't account for that in game design. You can only head in one direction for so long before the emergent simulation creates odd outcomes.

[*] I am in the top 100 players in the game for weaponization, yet my arms manufacturing is -40??????? I have never banned guns or placed restrictions on them. Supply/demand NS???

Yeah, I can see how that has happened. Same logic, I'm afraid.

So here we go - please include more issue effects for boosting specific industries.

There's so many of these you wouldn't believe. Probably an average of 2-3 per issue.

It's just your nation is so big, they barely register now.

There are plenty of pizza issues . Unfortunetly, however, I never recieve any :( :( :( I really wanna boost my pizza delivery sector. How do I go about recieving pizza related issues anyway?

Anyway, if you don't think that there are enough issues regarding (topic), feel free to draft one in the Got Issues subforum, and we'll happily help you perfect your draft then you can submit it :)
