Wait, how does everyone except me know when an issue has been accepted?

Sometimes, we let people know. It's not a standard thing, and situations like this make me regret telling.

Well, now I see what you mean by "no guarantees". It's been two months, and nothing.

I know those feels.

I understand why the editors can't rush too much, though. They owe it to the people whose issues they are working on now to do the job right.

I know. I'm just frustrated. I know it's not their fault. The editors work hard on these, I know. I'm just frustrated.

This is one of the reasons we usually keep a wall of silence about draft status. I explained the system to you a few months ago:
Luna Amore wrote:Regarding the 'yes' pile. There's no such thing. A draft can be deleted from every place in the Issue CP except the Live Issues.

All submitted drafts are automagically placed in a Queue. This is where probably 95%-98% of drafts get deleted. If an editor likes an issue, they can either move it to their own pile to work on or to the general Pool of issues that haven't been claimed. Yours has moved from the starter Queue to the general Pool. You've made it past the first big filter so your odds have increased a lot, but nothing is guaranteed until it goes in game. Drafts have been deleted from all levels before. I just deleted one that I had in my pile to edit as a matter of fact.

So your draft has received its first yes. Several more (and editing) are required before it gets in game.

And to further muddy things, drafts can be rescued from the deleted bin (provided they haven't been permanently deleted). Golgo has edited issues into the game from the deleted pile.

Not complaining here, but can I have an update on the status of my issue?

Sure, as it was my fault your hopes were raised, I think I'll provide an explanation.

The issue sat in the accepted pool for a long time, and gradually drifted to near the bottom of that pool. The pool is periodically reviewed, and - mostly because of a general increase in submission quality from the community - this issue just didn't seem that interesting or as strong as it once did: being left untouched for all that time was one bad sign, and on a reread, it just has less going on that it first seemed.

It's unlikely this issue will see publication.

Once again, I'd like to apologise for breaking protocol by implying the issue was accepted in the first place. If I'd stuck to the usual approach, there wouldn't have been an expectation on your part that the issue was going to be published.
