I don't know if using Max Barry's name for this weirdo is a good idea, but then he's shown up before in some rather unusual contexts. (Apparently, he's winning a lot of beauty contests.)
Also, I want a kitten now.
Of course, the sensible answer would be "You want to secede? Okay, we'll just cut off all electricity, water, and gas services, and make you pay export taxes on anything you try to bring home the store.".
I was inspired by that Family Guy episode where Peter makes his own country and invades the US.

The first option should probably improve safety from crime (though that'll likely happen as a side effect of increasing law & order spending).Australian Republic wrote:The first stats are all bad. That's not good!

Please don't demand things like this. We've made it exceedingly clear that stats are completely optional when writing drafts. Get the words right; we'll worry about balancing things on the backend.

I'm less concerned about Max Barry being mentioned per se, and more about if trying to secede from the nation and attacking a mailman is something Max Barry would want to be associated with.Nation of Quebec wrote:I probably wouldn't worry too much about using Max Barry's name. As Trotterdam mentioned, he's been mentioned before and Jennifer Government is a part of NationStates canon. Although Max does seem to be getting around. How does he manage to win all those beauty contests?

Good idea. I'll edit as soon as I can.
The name shall be Mike Rowe.

My only concerns are the use of the word bum in the second option's effect line. Somebody may find it offensive.
The other concern is a gameplay one about option 3. If the central government loses all control, then how could it legislate in other issues? That said, this is NationStates, so not all that realistic.
But yeah, I love this. Great work!

Issues in anarchic nations are addressed by "a small group of community-minded individuals".Wallenburg wrote:Well, we have plenty of anarchies on NS, and they answer issues every day.
