Stop the Suits, Say Surgeons. WAT?

Postby Sapiocratia » Fri Apr 03, 2015 7:27 am

"Recently, medical insurance premiums across the nation have been skyrocketing following several highly-publicised medical-malpractice lawsuits, making it costlier than ever to get treatment. Doctors are asking the government to step in."

Malpractice suits, if anything, would keep medical insurance premiums low: they provide another recourse for payout, for the patient. They would increase doctors' professional malpractice insurance premiums.

Also, I have no private industry. I have no "insurance companies" except those of the state, I have no private lawyers who can exploit this system for profit. In fact, I have no medical insurance companies, period. I have a massive welfare state, and healthcare is inclusive.

If this issue means malpractice insurance, it should be edited to clarify this. If it means actual healthcare insurance, it should not have been displayed as an issue for my nation.

People pay tax where I am, not healthcare insurance premiums.

The game has no way of knowing that.
If you consider the issue inappropriate then just dismiss it.

Actually, I believe the game does have a way of knowing that. I was reading about composing issues. If automobiles are banned, you will not receive automobile related issues, I believe. Or at least, it is possible to formulate the issue in such a way that it is not sent to those it's not applicable to.

My point being, the editor should have done this, no?

The game knows that:

1. In my nation, private industry is illegal.
2. In my nation, there is free healthcare.
3. My nation is a welfare state. (per spending)

The game tracks some details, such as the legality of automobiles, but not everything... and I [still] suspect strongly that the existence or non-existence of health insurance is one of the details not tracked.

I believe that NS knows whether your people pay for healthcare or not, it just doesn't always matter.

For example, I've had free education and same-sex marriage in Kesshite for years now, but still get issue related to people having to pay for education or whether we should allow same-sex marriage.
