Answer issues in ways that expand your people's political and economic freedoms, and strengthen business, but that reduce their 'civil' fredoms.

On a converse note, how could I become a Left wing Utopia again? I was once for a short while...but then I ended up back as Democratic Socialist and then my current category.

I think that you need to make choices that increase 'civil' freedoms.

Oh, I generally keep those high, but not way high.

I've just checked, yours are "way high" enough and it's actually the political freedoms that you need to increase. Sorry about the earlier mistake.

Economy

Postby Cynthia McKinney » Mon Oct 12, 2009 9:16 am

The categories have nothing to do with GDP and they don't measure economic strength only economic freedom. However since this game is mostly biased in favor of free market capitalism and neoliberalism the more economic freedom you allow the easier it is to improve economic strength since many issues have options that increase both economic freedom and economic strength.

I think GDP is determined by the size of your population. Its possible to have a strong or weak economy in any category.

But doesn't being more of a liberal country lower the GDP as more things are socialized.

GDP

Postby Cynthia McKinney » Tue Oct 13, 2009 9:12 am

Something being socialized would not change the GDP. It would only change the ownership and control over the means of production not what is being produced. In fact under socialism there would likely be greater production causing GDP to increase because capitalists create artificial scarcity by limiting what is sold on the market so they can increase prices guaranteeing them higher profits. The goal of capitalism is to turn everything into a commodity. Thats a major reason why the third world countries have low GDPs. The other reason is the very low wages of the working class and the complete domination of nations by transnational corporations.
