Issue Idea

Postby Daranicuss » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:21 am

Ok I have two ideas:

1) How about a mother is trying to gain compensation for her and her child because her daughter was forced to eat meat in one of her school meals despite being a vegetarian. The arguements for and against could be things like: compensate the child and introduce something like a food diversity course, don't compensate the child and insist protein from meat is vital for children and dont allow vegetarianism. I don't know I'm new to this issue stuff.

2) I was thinking something to do with polygamy and making it legal or not.

Thanks.

I think the first one is good, but I'm pretty sure the second has been done.

I also really like the idea of the first one. But yeah, the second one has been done.

How funny you bring that you bring up the topic of a school forcing a vegetarian child to eat meat. I just had that conversation the other day ( were you listening in on my telephone conversation ? ). I had brought up the subject of that North Carolina school forcing a kid to throw away a perfectly good lunch, and required to eat chicken nuggets. I asked what if a child was a vegetarian, should the school require him to eat meat, if he brought in say a Morningstar grillers burger.

There are a number of vegetarian versus carnivore issues already in the game, and most are far more extreme than this one. You need to look for a broad brush when writing issues. Remember, this is a national debate, not just something the school administrator could easily resolve.
