Why so much Sex and Nudity in the Issues?

A place to spoil daily issues for those who haven't had them yet, snigger at typos, and discuss ideas for new ones.

Why so much Sex and Nudity in the Issues?

It's not that it bugs me, but what is up with it? Is it to show the real life problems of actual nations? I am confused.

I'm not seeing an unusual amount of nudity or sex in issues.

There's around a dozen issues that directly deal with those two subjects.

A dozen out of 300 still seems like a lot to me. Hopefully the new issues will decrease the concentration.

I’m mostly here for... something to do, I suppose.

Issues must be intreresting in some way, they must offer an actual problem worth pondering about. I doubt many people would find the game interesting if the game would offer one dilemma's regarding legislation about standard brick sizes or the minimal tightness offered by the paperclips for sale/export.

In RL, sex and nudity leads to lots of heated debate. As does welfare, social servies, defense, the environment, etc... That's why those issues are in the game.

As for the relative quantity... how many people get worked up over legislation about abortion vs the possible purchase of attack helicopters? I think more, and am thus not surprised there are more issues about the former than the latter.

Good news though: you are welcome to write and submit new issues, and if they're good enough they will make it into the game. You can thus help steer the relative frequency of available topics.

Seconded with Ballotonia here. Firstly, sexual tensions make up a pretty large part of human emotion, and (seemingly more recently), sexual freedoms disputes play a pretty large role in politics.

Seconly, twelve out of roughly three hundred doesn't seem like much - trying to guess whether I more than one of thirty of my thoughts regards sex, and I think there's a fairly clear answer.

If you're particularly concerned, it may be worth highlighting particular problem issues from the compiled list of issues.
Author of Issues:
#273: Is our children learning?
#310: Too Little Talk?
#315: Creative Flowers Withering Under Legislation
#324 "Tourism Tanking" Tells Tabloids
#334: Blot Out Bauhaus
#340: Defending Patent Pending
#365: A Busload of Worry

None at present

If I offer criticism on your proposed issue, I will often write in red: don't think I'm being aggressive, it's just a convention I use!
If I ask a question on a proposed issue thread, then it's because I feel it's one you need to ask of your issue: I'm being Socratic and/or lazy.

In a purely analytical vein, I'm aware of the actions of you and your region mates, and ... well, let's just say that you're almost certainly in a younger demographic than most of our players. Given that we have players from 8 to 80, we have to balance the interests of all groups, not just middle schoolers.
