Compulsory Gun Ownership?

I don't get why there's no option to ban guns completely.

We know that's the safest option in the real world!

Here's the issue in full

The Issue

This weekend, a citizen's group calling itself Gun Owners of Terraliberty has petitioned Congress with a controversial bill making gun ownership compulsory.
The Debate

1. "This is a very important step to securing the rights and lives of our families and controlling the government," urges noted gun ownership proponent Billy Chicago. "Not only would it significantly decrease crime, but it would also effectively stop government tyranny in its tracks. Of course, this also means that every wacko and their cousin will have a gun, but don't worry, you'll have a gun to defend yourself from them, so it will all work out."

2. "While the Gun Owners of Terraliberty have the safety and security of our people in mind, it would simply be impractical to enforce," comments Police Chief George W. Jefferson. "A better option would be to legalize, and encourage use of, concealed carry laws, which would allow responsible citizens to keep firearms with them at all times, on their person, to kill any wacko or their cousin who they think is threatening them."

3. "Compulsory gun ownership?! Concealed carry?! Are these fools nuts?!" rants an enraged Million Mummy March activist. "We don't need any of these things! What we need is complete gun registration, so that the government can track down dangerous people, like those people who possess unregistered weapons."

If you're looking to ban guns completely, option #2 in issue #20 is what you're looking for.

*AHEM*
Totally subjective.
I made guns compulsory in my nation and crime went down.
Anyway, if you don't agree with anything on this issue, just dismiss it.

I like option two in that issue. Concealed carry, hell yeah! The third option also seems contradictory. If you register the guns, you can only track registered guns. It looks to me that option favors criminals.

Banning guns increases crime because only criminals will have guns then along with the government.

Option 2 is the correct choice.

As with all issues, there is no 'correct' choice. Some of us feel quite uncomfortable when any random loon can be packing a firearm.
I'm still weirded out whenever I go somewhere and the Police are armed, let alone the general public.

I know what you mean. I'm glad our police don't routinely carry guns.
