Chuck something down on paper. I'm the same - look back at some of my first drafts here and they're a case of Option 1: Pro issue talking point. Fill in blanks later.

The great thing about the forum is that it can be used to hone and fine tune stuff. Vague is fine - as long as there is a direction.
As an editor I seam to spend an awful lot of thyme going threw issues and checking that they're no oblivious errars. Its a tough job but someone's got too do it!

I like that the direction the forum has taken is not to weed out not-so-stellar issues, but instead to set people up to win.

Here's an idea for anybody who wants to use it: An issue about the future of the fashion industry... titled 'The Drape of Things To Come'.

^_^
The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

One question. There's an issue on flashmobbery, and I want to write a dancing issue. Would that be a 'ripoff' of the flash mob issue?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the only issue that has dancing is flashmobbery, so if you can come up with a national issue around dancing,
(which not only do I think would work but I suspect a couple of editors would really like to see)
I think you'll have yourself a pretty decent chance of making issuehood. :)

So, this might be a bit controversial, and on second thought I challenge anyone to write an issue on what I’m about to bring up, if one hasnt been done already.

What’s the consensus on Oxford Commas? Do we like em?

I myself am a believer in the almighty oxford, but then again I am addicted to commas.

Congrats, Kangaroo Cabal!
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. | Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Updated post 2 with new request flagged in red below:

last updated 29/3/18:

Here's some stuff that I think we have urgent need of in the game:

Multiple gaps exist within the issue base. Please consider closing these with good quality issue drafts, which will be prioritised for publication:

Absolute primogeniture - Activated in 596, if you choose to have the eldest child inherit the throne regardless of gender. Cannot currently be reversed. Medium priority: Reversal issue needed please.
Of note on this, this is tricky to write as for technical reasons you cannot refer to, change or know:
1) Whether the nation currently is ruled by a male or female monarch
2) The gender of the heir apparent
3) Whether the nation is ruled by the monarch, or whether its a constitutional monarchy.
4) Whether or not @@LEADER@@ is the monarch.

Autarky - Freedom from any dependence on external trade or markets. Activated in 126, 649 and 815. Deactivated by a whole bunch of options that incidentally mention solutions based on imports and exports. This isn't ideal, and those options will slowly be migrating to option validity exclusions, so we need a proper reversal. Medium priority: Reversal issue that explicitly reverses the concept of autarky.

Body Modification - Body modification is banned. Medium priority: An issue that makes this legal again.

Mccarthyism - Activated only in the CAPITALgate chain, and currently checked only there, but creates a persistent condition suggesting that the nation indulges in Mccarthy era witch-hunts for dissidents. Low priority: An issue reverses this policy.

Monarchy - Activated by 461 and 527. Can be reversed in 596, but access to that issue is locked if you already have absolute primogeniture, which in turn cannot be reversed. So ideally we need an issue that can reverse both these in two options within a single issue. High priority.

National Healthcover - Nation has an NHS, activated and deactivated in lots of places. However deactivations are mostly by side effect, no specific deactivation. Low priority: Reversal issue that explicitly ends the NHS.

Term Limits - Activated in 54 and 306, elected officials have term limits. No reversal exists at present. Medium priority: An issue that reverses term limits.

No Cents - As per 343, small denomination coins have been withdrawn. One reversal exists at present, but requires you to have another rare policy active. Low priority: An issue that reverses this with non-stringent entry requirements.

No Compensation- Nation allows for compensation lawsuits. Currently activated by specific narratives, and deactivated incidentally by options that mention compensation. This isn't ideal, and those options will slowly be migrating to option validity exclusions, so we need a proper reversal. Medium priority: Reversal issue that explicitly restores the concept of compensation.

No Courts - This policy indicates that lack of traditional courts, which basically means a judge, verbal arguments and evidence for prosecution and defence, and formal sentencing prior to punishment. There's actually three reversals in the game but they're all a little unsatisfactory, as they reverse the policy as a side effect of mentioning a solution that involves courts. I'd rather flag these as options not valid if you don't have courts, but to do that... High priority: An issue that reinstates courts.

No Pro Sports - Professional sports (specifically that, not all sports in general) are banned. A reversal will be needed for this. Medium priority: An issue that reverses.

No Senate - Triggered by abolishing the upper house in 560. No reversal exists. High priority: An issue that reinstates the upper house.

No Smoking - Can be reversed by 139, but not all non-smoking nations can access that issue. Low priority: Other ways to re-legalising smoking, ideally nestled within issues that don't have that as the primary narrative.

No Zoos - As per 431 and 547. One reversal exists, but only as a side effect change. Low priority: An issue that specifically relegalises zoos.

Thank you all. I hope to contribute positively to our game.

Do we need an issue that will once and for all determine if a nation has an absolute monarchy or a constitutional monarchy?
