That just crossed my mind the other day as well. It'd be a good issue.

Did you see that story about the guy unknowingly using an old grenade as a walnut cracker for 25 years too?

From the article. It (the "walnut cracker") had been given to him by a friend...

Yeah, right. That's some Wile e Coyote style shenanigans right there.
As an editor I seam to spend an awful lot of thyme going threw issues and checking that they're no oblivious errars. Its a tough job but someone's got too do it!

Do you think this is a good topic?

An issue about people such as the Kurds and the Romani (Gypsies) who have no homeland, but it is believed that sections of @@NAME@@ are the traditional homelands of these displaced people, and now there are major arguments about what should be done?

There are multiple angles to take from this, such as:
-The Israel/Palestine conflict, should @@name@@ give away a chunk of their land, so that the stateless can have a land
-A Yugoslavia/Iraq conflict- where some of the ethnicities want to break away from @@NAME@@
-The New World type, where borders were drawn to suite colonisers, without regard for ethnic boundaries of indigenous ethnic boundaries

Wait... I assumed "I'll leave it be" was serious, but the exact word choice was a joke on the topic matter. Was it intentional?

So I thought it would be helpful to be clear about our new abilities with macros. For any random name, you want to call we can: 1) call the appropriate gender macro at any point in the issue now (before or after) irrespective of other random name calls, and 2) Call that random name back in full, or just the first or last name. So if:
@random name@@ #1 happens to be Bobbie Sue for this example and
@@random name@@ #2 happens to be Joe Montana

"You should steal the money from the bank," suggests @@random name@@.

"Don't listen to @@first name from option 1@@," suggests @@random name@@, "@@HE from the first option@@ is a liar, only listen to me, @@random name from option 2@@.

Would give you:

"You should steal the money from the bank," suggests Bobbie Sure.

"Don't listen to @@Bobbie@@," suggests Joe Montana, "She is a liar, only listen to me, Joe Montana.

The actual coding for this is mildly complex, so don't worry too much about what exactly you put in the macro area, just make sure it's clear to us what you want.

issues can be reported multiple times. If the name is the same in multiple ones, it's the same. Also if it's Ernie Flanders, Edward Rump, Catherine Gratwick, or anything else obvious.

I was wondering what you guys think of the idea of a issue revolving around the idea of all copyright material going to the public domain.

We already have issues for abolishing copyright...

#500 Please Don't Feed The (Copyright) Trolls
...and for dealing with the consequences of having abolished copyright.
#340 Defending Patent Pending
#603 Not My Idea
What are you thinking of?

In recent days we have had several issues about how terrorists can sometimes enter the country as refugees, which is something that is very topical at the moment.

Unfortunately, none of those issue submissions were very good.

Does anyone care to try their hand at writing a high quality issue around this premise? I'd be very interested in fast tracking it.

I have an idea for an issue about blackmailing people into becoming drug mules by threatening to attack their families. Thoughts?
