Well, reason I ask is because I was thinking of incorporating it into an issue. One where the leader's identity is stolen. Already have a draft written up, just feeling gun-shy about whether it'll even be worth posting.

If your alternative option is going straight through the issue submission process, then please submit it here in a new thread. Nobody likes an issue draft that they can't criticise because it's been submitted before they notice it.

It's highly recommended that you post your draft here first. The vast majority of the issues we see that haven't been posted here are deleted. You have a much better chance of getting your issue into the yes pile if you post it on here to allow people to give you constructive criticism.

So I'm thinking about writing an issue about trying to persuade a politician of an opposing party to join your own one. I'm not sure if there are any issues that cover that kind of inter-person power politics in any way. Can anybody point me in the direction of any applicable ones?

Hush Hush, Sweet Charlotte is the most relevant one I can think of, but .... yeah.
This nation is modeled on being my absolute worst dystopia imaginable. In no way do the Annihilators reflect my opinions, in fact I am totally against almost every single policy they enact.
I support insanely high tax rates, do you?

The only other one I can think of off the top of my head is your issue #541: Spare the Whip, Spoil the Law as it allows you to disallow crossing aisles and whipping those that vote against you. This is only tangentially connected, however.

But yeah, sounds interesting. I'd like to see your draft of it.

There is an issue about floor crossing, so perhaps yours could be a follow up to that issue?

The list of suggested issues has been updated. We're also looking for an issue surrounding a dinosaur park, particularly for nations that already have them.

EDIT - We're also looking for issues about having a state controlled media.

A continuation of this train of thoughT:
Tinhampton wrote:
Drasnia wrote:It's times like these where I wonder if we should get an official unofficial chat server (either IRC or Discord).

If we must do that, how about reviving the old #IssuesLair IRC chat that was semi-popular in the summer of 2012 and never seen again?

So here's my line of reasoning: GI? is at its largest, most active, and most talkative I've ever seen. In order to keep drafting threads largely uncluttered from our witty banter as well as possibly make better friendships, perhaps we should resurrect the idea of having a chat room. Personally, I'm quite fond of Discord. It's more user-friendly, intuitive, and really altogether easier to manage and more secure than IRC (plus it allows people to see the message history without having to set up a bouncer client to keep them online all the time). What is the community's thoughts?

Also, if there is support for such an idea, which service should we use and should it be maintained by the issues staff or players?

EDIT: Fixed a typo

Continue the train of though... got it. Now what is this "though" you speak of?
Continuation of a conjunction?

Nevertheless, a GI discord server would be great. I've always used Discord over Skype and Teamspeak, as it works well for gaming AND general chat. If we were to make a server, I'd suggest it being run by a senior editor and sanctioned by a group of trusted members, such as the editors or people like Drasnia.

Edit: I'd also suggest adding a couple of bots for general purposes.
And because I am power hungry... I can help regulate this server...

I think some choices of 670/35 raise an interesting question. Okay your excepting refugees into your country, but what do you do with them? Where do you house them? How do you integrate them into society? etc.

Oh I can see why you'd think that, but I wrote this because, regardless of our conversation backstage, what to do with refugees would be an interesting topic for a new issue to cover, IMO. I just meant to suggest that as potential issue topic to the community, which I did in an unclear and confusing fashion for all.

Yes, yes, I know, I'm now an editor and I have a tendency towards silly typos. I'm not proud to be the most typo prone editor on the team (and perhaps in the world) but I think we all know I have strengths elsewhere. Sometimes I post under a time crunch, but let's face it, I also just mess up sometimes. You all are going to have to move on eventually.
