I haven't seen any issues about the Waco Siege. As such, I was thinking of writing one about the siege just before it began. What decision would you make? Before I go through the trouble of drafting an issue only to find it already a thing, I figured I would ask NS Forums. Is it a thing already? Thanks.

Thanks, Wrapper.

Re: adding options, we're already discussing this backstage, but current consensus is that the writing should stay as it is, though with the intent to monitor response rates and the like. Feel free to join the backstage conversation though, if you want to add an opinion.

Re: No Sports, that's a good call. Added a validity check.

Re: Pacifism, I'll not add anything for now. The nation's pacifism stat primarily represents its military pacifism, and a nation can still be bloodthirsty for violent sports while being inclined towards a state of peace between nations. While the stat description does mention "peace-loving citizens", its a stat primarily driven by military stats. We could look at adding something related to niceness, but I don't think its necessary - even in a nation where most of the people abhor violence, they'll always be a few whose opinions differ, and it can be a vocal minority we hear from in an issue.

I'm sure we referenced it somewhere.

298 addresses cults in general, 619 is about cults fighting over a patch of land. 939 is probably the closest, with a cult historically associated with mass suicides wanting to set up camp in the country. 943 has cults illegally practising forced polygamous weddings.

Yeah, we do have quite a few about cults. Is it still fair game?

Obvious answer is that it depends what your issue is about. Now you know where potential overlaps lie, just avoid those.

Is there an issue about whether to allow transgender people to participate in athletics events restricted to their new genders? And would it be OK to use the genders used in real life for races, i.e. male and female?

Don't forget #836, where a cult actualy did commit mass suicide.

Oh yes, I just found it, it's no. 297 I think. It wasn't coming up in my search because it talks about intersex rather than transgender athletes, but the overlap would be too big.

Autosomal recessive conditions are touched upon in #499 The Genetics of Aesthetics. I'm not sure what sort of issue you had in mind, but if its with a view to genetic screening, we're probably overlapping.

Was reviewing my posts and realized today marks one year since I arrived in GI, though it has hardly felt that long. I’d like to thank everyone for their help over the past twelve months.

Let’s have another good year, GI groupies.

Not sure, but I think there is more than one possible story that can be written about sovereign citizens and it's OK to try drafting one if you have an idea.

Hoping to draft some new issues, just wanted to throw ideas out and get some general feedback if they exist and i missed them on the list.

For nations with high fishing industry, an issue about coral reef, coral reef protection.

There are some things with political donations, but maybe an issue relating to how much a candidate can fund themself or something that would make it so you don't need funding to run for office. only valid with elections ofc.

Quebecs list says there is no issue specifically to reinstitute courts, but doesn't say what issue abolishes them. any info on that would help draft a reversal

Then I'm thinking of writing a reversal for zoo bans

If there are any existing issues that cover either of the first two, or any details I should know for the reversals, suggestions are appreciated

According to Trotterdam's website (search for "No Judiciary"), issues 98, 240, 253, 533, 738, 765, 858, and 987 ban courts. As CWA says, are also two issues that can remove the policy, but only as a side effect- and maybe not a very obvious one either.

If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. | Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

In case the red text at the opening of the post wasn't clear, NoQ's list is long gone. The list edited in there was provided by myself. Don't want him blamed for any comments I've made.

Re: the other ideas...

Coral reef protection doesn't ring a bell, sounds like a new issue.
Political donations are covered in a lot of issues already, there's a high chance of overlap.

Noted, saw the red text but just put the nation listed as poster anyway.
The donations thing I’ll look into more, was kinda thinking about how much an individual can fund their own campaign or something, with a person based on trump running causing the issue to come up

Ah choo! Caught a bad dose of the issue writing bug ;)

Is there an issue looking at preventative health practices? Eg traditional, fitness regime, alternative?
