There should be a link below the current issues area on your "ISSUES" page.

Although this is not where you should be writing your issue, but where you should be pasting it after writing it in a text editor and checking it thoroughly.

What about a nation discovering that the depths of its largest forest contain a 'Stone Age' tribe consisting either of intelligent & anthropomorphic Bears (like the inhabitants of this nation, whose existence is widely known & generally accepted within both the international sports community & the GA...) or an intelligent & anthropomorphic version of the national animal? Thank you, Sirocco. This is very useful. I have one annoyingly nitpicky problem with your second post. Under "Variables", it mentions the UN daily rankings, despite the UN's conversion to the WA. Sorry for being so picky

So this is only available after you have 500 million citizens? I have a few ideas, would the mods potentially pass an idea about first contact with aliens or would that not fly because that hasn't happened yet in reality.

Example of Issue Format

Pardon my lapse in mental activity. I found the answer right there at the bottom of the page I was referring to. If it makes everyone feel better, I claim to be the leader of a (fictitious) nation, and as the foremost politician, reserve the right to be retarded from time to time.

First off, I want to thank you very much for the breakdown of issue-writing. I've been on NS for a good long while now, and am thinking of turning my participation up a notch and submitting a few issues. I'm probably overthinking the whole process, and it's probably a lot easier than I imagine, but is there any way that you could post an example of how the finished issue proposal should look?

Could (and should) the ‘stats’ sections for the options in issues submitted now include suggestions about changes to the nation’s ‘Leading Causes of Death’?

(EDIT: Oops! Posted with the wrong nation... but you all realise who this actually is, hrright?)

And if we can make suggestions about this, then what about suggesting new Causes to add to the chart, such as 'Medical Errors', 'Shipwreck', 'Drug Overdose', 'Burning at the Stake' (which would fit for one of the options in my own contest entry...), or 'Drowned in Custard'?

"your issue can not add new industries, government departments or anything else that would require new code."

Suppose I want a space program. Suppose I get some of my weapon factories to build space-ships and for game purposes those space-ships count as fancy weapons.

I can't have a Ministry of Space, but I can make the Bureau of Space a sub-department of the Education Ministry or the War Ministry or the Agriculture Ministry.

Is that the way to do it?

From the Issue FAQs:

Sirocco wrote:How do I submit an issue?

In your sidebar there is a link that says 'Issues'. Click it, and if you have 500 million citizens or over, a link will be there that asks you if you wish to submit an issue. Remember to read the guidelines.

No, there is no macro for plurals, I just stick an /s/ on the end:

An @@ANIMAL@@ in the hand is worth two @@ANIMAL@@s in the bush.

the only problem I have with that is my national animal is the moose witch doesn't have a plearl

IE: that's one big moose, look at all those moose. I guess I could ignore when it says "mooses"

I find this VERY usefull, and almsot always refer to what i've learned from it when helping others write issues.

I have one related request for the administrators, moderators or anyone else who knows all the code.

Would you mind posting a list of all the things this could effect? I think thigns like political freedoms, economy, and civil rights are easy but then comes things like, most rebelious youth, most godforsaken, etc.

The list of things an option can effect goes on and on, if an officall list of the possible things of which an option effects could be put up, that would be very helpfull for aspiring writers.

What are the rules for putting in names?

Postby NeoPangaea » Thu Dec 22, 2011 7:01 pm

I'm in the middle of writing an issue right now, but am confused about what exactly the "rules" for putting in names are. I mean, I get that putting in @@RANDOMNAME@@ generates a name at "random" (or in reality, from a list of first and last names). But what if I type in a First name and then @@RANDOMNAME@@, like say I put "Bob @@RANDOMNAME@@. Would I get just a last name, or the usual combination of a first and last name (that just happens to look awkward because of the name I already put in front of it)?
