Yes. "@@DEMONYMADJECTIVE@@ Aid Workers Begin Distributing Rations" is one of those newspaper headlines (not to be confused with issue effect lines - the number of the issue involved is not particularly relevant in this case). Normally, demonyms are already capitalized, but in NormanJackson's case, the that field has been customized to "so faithful".

Issue Number - 1620
Issue Name - Ballooning Out of Proportions
Type of Error - Prerequisite Fault?

Summary -
Just recently, I received this issue regarding a balloon floating over a military facility. The problem is nothing within the issue itself, but the fact that I had even received this issue to begin with when I have a negative defense forces ranking (no military). I feel that it would not make sense to have this issue pop up in the rotations for a nation if a military does not even exist in said nation, and that a positive defense forces ranking should be a prerequisite to receive this issue.

Many thanks.

Thanks to my lovely purple coat, I can now fix this, instead of having to bump it to admin. Might still take a while; I'll roll it in with some other small issues tweaks I'm making at the moment.

Perhaps illegal immigration?

I don't think it's a safe assumption that illegal immigrants in a nation with the No Immigration policy would be collecting welfare in large numbers (especially one like mine with low corruption).

Encountered #1509 on a puppet, with a nondescript wealthy industrialist donating large sums to create parks in my nation, which is socialist, 5% in the world for income inequality, and bans private industry.

In 1622 option 3 the speaker can also be female, right? I just received an "Athena" which is listed as female name. However, the macro in the last sentence was not active, it still printed "He shakes the hand..."

Issue #862 seems to have the same pronoun-mismatch issue as mentioned above in option 2:

“All we ask is that you close the doors to those filthy immigrants!” spits La Badlandojian Nationalist Cruella Meyer, seemingly disgusted by the colour of the dessert in front of him.

I just noticed that on issue 551 when one of them read:
"Family Groups Support Drug Crackdown" while the one with the macro was "so faithful Aid Workers Begin Distributing Rations". I don't know if these are issue specific or are drawn from a common pool of headlines yet I hope the macros don't need to be checked for every single issue.

Just to clarify, these are the headlines that appear on the flavor-text newspapers after you've answered the issue?

Sorry for the late response - correct, it was in one of the four "newspapers" that appear after answering the issue.

Edit: It seems to be a somewhat more general issue. I just answered issue 56 and got as one of these newspapers headings:

The T'e Old'e Town Chronicle
VOL. 32 NO. 56
CITY FINAL
TUESDAY MARCH 19, 2024

faithfuls Soak Up Super Summer

Perhaps macros at the headlines are generally not capitalized?

I've just received #236 ("Quickie Marriages Under Scrutiny") on La Badlandoj. The issue premise is that someone got impulsively married and got an annulment, and "there is now a growing call for some restraints to be put on the nation’s liberal marriage laws"...but La Badlandoj bans divorce. Technically it's an annulment rather than a divorce, but it feels like Permanent Marriage should probably be an exclusion criterion here.

(I recognize that very liberal nations with flexible relationship laws that ban divorce were probably not thought about here :p)

On Milostein: #1623 was titled "The Woman in the Iron Lung" in my notices, but then "The Man in the Iron Lung" in the actual issue when I opened it. The rest of the issue text consistently referred to the protagonist as a man (Amadeus McBoatface).

I forgot to check the actual issues folder before answering, so I don't know what was used there.

Still, it looks like using random macros in issue titles is a little wonky.

I found it consistent so far. However, I also noticed that random items (names most notably) change between first loading the page and getting it done. It also happens when there are macros in effect lines and one reloads the main page which tend to change rather randomly.
I know added the "_1" into the report of #1623 in the title.

Issue #820: "These Heels Weren't Made For Working"
2. "What's wrong with wanting staff to look professional?" queries @@RANDOM_NAMEMALE@@, staff manager at the renowned Iddiott-Hellton Hotel. "We just want our employees to look respectable while they're dealing with clients. Nobody forced this old girl to take this job! Look, @@LEADER@@, if you really want to help, maybe you could set an example by seeing to your own attire. Honestly, everything you are wearing could use a hot iron and some starch."
(I got this issue from another nation, and I forgot to copy it, so instead, I copied the one in the issue list)
"Iddiott-Hellton Hotel" sounds too deprecating and non-neutral, doesn't it? It's one thing to make the speaker look or act funny, it's another thing to straight up call his hotel "idiot hell-ton."

Issue #129, "Tribal Troubles," mentions "Star Trek" in Option 1. I'm pretty sure mentioning real-life things like this has since been out-lawed, correct?

It's not correct; there is no strict law against real-world references for issue writing (that's a GA thing). Stylistically people tend to make puns and such now (like Melon Husk), but there's no obligation to do so - besides the fact that mere stylistic edits are very rare for old issues (unless there's a long-overlooked spelling error).

Issue #457

After a slow news week, one of your aides brought to your attention the controversy surrounding Violetstone National Park. Well-known information technology tycoon Edward Rump recently revealed proposals to purchase the land and intends to carve the faces of former leaders into Mount Rushless, a site revered by many Native Earthlings.

Issue #645's 2nd effect line reads:
The pursuit of wanted criminals ends at the entrance of the pay'n'spray garage as police refuse to enter any private property.

This seems a bit weird for a country with the Socialism policy, as in other issues I feel like socialist governments are portrayed as vehemently against the idea of private property. Should this be reworked a bit?

In North Korea, people can still acquire the right to use property/land, even if they don't own it. That property isn't public. Think of this line as "police refuse to enter any non-public property".

I may just be tired and thus suffering from an unfortunate lack of thinking ability, but I just went to answer issue #447, and I think there may have been a word unintentionally omitted (or possibly added) in option #4.

It reads: ‘“Or you just let us be a part of the government, or at least let be part of your group in Parliament.”’

I feel like it should be either “Or you just let us be a part of the government, or at least let us be part of your group in Parliament”, or just “ Or you just let us be a part of the government, or at least be part of your group in Parliament”, without the let. The let be just seems off to me.

That said I am currently sleep deprived so it might actually make perfect sense or otherwise be a difference between American and British English I’m not aware of.

That’s a big part of why I was second guessing myself, I felt like an issue with a number that low has to be fairly old, and if it actually had something wrong with it surely someone would’ve reported it by now. But apparently not.

Thanks for fixing it, I’m glad to know I wasn’t crazy.

In issue 474 I see an inconsistency for story-telling. The second speaker starts with "Evolution and natural selection selected these creatures for extinction for a reason" - however, evolution and related subjects may well be banned in some nations. Could there also be a religious alternative to this option, e.g. talking about the divine will that has stricken down these creatures instead of evolution?
