Issue 4 might need a validity check- “All the worthwhile companies will flee to more business-friendly jurisdictions”- how exactly are the companies supposed to flee somewhere when my country is socialist? Why would they even care about it being business friendly?
Companies can exist in socialist countries (the Soviet Union even had McDonald's before the fall of the Berlin Wall).

Pasolia wrote:This is Tinhampton.

Pursuant to Joy's post from a few months ago, the speaker in Option 1.3 is a "gay rights activist" who complains about people being discriminated against "because of their sexual preference."

This being one of the original issues, it will be taken backstage for discussion.

I know, but, I suppose, such actions have to be attributed to the Economic Freedom graph- after all it exists for a reason. And Laka’ economic freedom is down the drain, to say the least.

Yes, this is an interesting discussion. By the time the first McDonald's opened in Moscow (1990) could the USSR really be described as 'socialist'? Has any country ever really been socialist or communist in the trust sense of the words? Even though a truly socialist society may be fundamentally impossible to attain in the real world, the Nationstates model allows for it in game (with 0 economic freedom, completely state-owned economy and totally equal wealth distribution). Therefore I'd say just because the USSR had a McDonald's in 1990 doesn't mean private companies are inherently compatible with the Nationstates socialism model. Just some rambling thoughts.

This is a thread for potential problems with macros and validities and objective errors with spelling, grammar and punctuation and responses there-to. Not "rambling thoughts".

Thanks!

Thanks!

But my post is not “rambling thoughts”. Yes, private ventures can exist in a socialist economy, but #1- is should and can be judged on basis of Economic Freedom and/or Economy graph.
Furthermore, your Soviet Union example is not valid because by the time the first McDonalds opened there, USSR was already transitioning from a socialist economy to a market one, even from an official standpoint.

In the issue 'rise of the machines' option 1 reads 'are belong' when 'belongs' seems to be the intended word. Some people might not consider it a big deal, but we punctuation nerds in Northeast Mayfly consider it a crime.

I got Issue #69 on this nation, where the speaker in Option 2 boasts about "how well funded our health system is!" I have no idea why @@RANDOMNAME_2@@ is making this boast, given that Disbak has always had a Theresa-Nightingale Rating of 0.00 - thereby putting its Public Healthcare stat in the top 97%. Unless humour was intended, as I would expect from NS :P

A nation with a autarky can still have a small number of exports and it is possible to place a trade sanction on exports.

I think this is okay.

Yeah, I think this can be read as a joke -- especially as it's been said alongside the suggestion that heavy amounts of toxic pollution will only be a minor problem.

Issue 294, option 1:
Legislators work 24/7 due to an influx of single-issue bills.
I know NS is supposed to be satirical, but this seems really over-the-top. I'm aware that in the US it is the norm to have huge bills covering everything under the sun, but in most other countries single-issue bills are the norm, and I doubt that adds anything substantial to legislators' workloads.

Effect lines are often humorous, and may be a reference, a joke or extension ad absurdium.

Secondly, this thread isn't for subjective suggestions. It's for objective errors with spelling, grammar or punctuation and suspected errors with macros and validities.

Issue #241, Option 5

5. "What's wrong with the old building?" asks @@RANDOMNAME@@, a noted disestablishmentarian. "We don't need some kind of fancy capital city just to make the bigwig ministers feel important! If there's no room, then fire politicians until there IS room. Have you never heard of doing more with less?"

A disestablishmentarian is someone who favours the separation of church and state, and more specifically in some areas refers to someone who believes the Church of England should be separate from the state.

The word is either irrelevant to the position of the 'disestablishmentarian', which is opposing what they see as political spending on the bureaucracy to satisfy them, or this was meant to be a different word but was somehow swapped out.

I think 'anti-government waste campaigner' would be a good replacement.

"Raiders of the Lost Archive" seems to have a mistake in the 3rd option. Decries seems to be used incorrectly: it would be correct if the speaker was bemoaning the primitive state of the country's paper archives, but considering that the speaker is only praising digitization in the dialogue, it isn't a denouncement of anything.
Pro: Direct democracy, e-democracy, parliamentary sovereignty, state secularism, non-violent direct action (striking), police reform, syndicalism, democratic workplace management
Anti: Most types of representative democracy, ultra-nationalism, imperialism, autocratic workplace management, the state

"meat prices are soaring as the farming industry struggle under government-imposed restrictions" should be either:
1) "meat prices are soaring as the farming industries struggle under government-imposed restrictions" or
2) "meat prices are soaring as the farming industry struggles under government-imposed restrictions"

I recommend using option 1) here, but 2) would be a more conventional fix.

Issue No. 122 Pensioners In Protest assumes a war to have happened in the history of the Nation State encountering the issue, at the end of the first option:
All it requires is a little more generosity on the part of the tax payers - after all, we fought the war for their sort."

This can disrupt the formulated narrative of a Nation State that has not engaged in war throughout its recent (or even entire) history.

A potential alternative phrasing could be something like:
All it requires is a little more generosity on the part of today's tax payers - after all, we've paid our share for a lifetime of work."
