I've just encountered Issue #596 ("Primogeniture Problems"), and right now Option's 4 and 5 (Choice's 6 and 7) appear to say the same thing for me. I'm guessing this is because the game can't tell whether my leader is male or female (since she doesn't have a standard female name or title), so the game has got itself confused?

EDIT: Altmer Dominion picked up on this on the Got Issues? Discord.

We have a lot of nuance with monarchy policies and it looks like the code was both redundant and got the Boolean wrong in places. Glad it's fixed. Thanks for the report!

To me it seems that #14 suggests that addressed nation has a standing military. Which is problematic as some nations don't have one, like me, but nevertheless I received this issue.

Issue 882:
1. “How could the school allow this?” wails Alice Räikkönen, the mother of the girl who died. “It’s totally irresponsible! Students shouldn’t be allowed to bring food from home and cafeterias should only serve food that no one is allergic to.”

2. “Life is like a box of chocolates,” says renowned sprinter Forrest Gumbo, apparently oblivious to how tone-deaf he sounds. “You never know what you’re gonna get. If you ban peanuts, you’ll get a student who’s allergic to shellfish. If you ban shellfish, you’ll get a student who’s allergic to wheat. You can’t ban it all. If your kid has a food allergy, it’s up to you to make sure they know what’s safe to eat and what’s not.”

3. “Screw you! You think I don’t talk to my kids?” snaps Michael Räikkönen, the father of the deceased student. “I’m not the one who gave Kendall that goddamn candy! If you want parents to be able to protect our children, then give us some control! There’s no reason for kids to be eating at school no matter where the food came from. Instead, you should invest in some decent transportation so you can send kids home for meals and let them eat with their family.”

Some net searching reveals that Kendall is a male name. Maybe something wrong with the macros?

Kendall can be unisex. I confirm that this is correctly coded.

Keeping the spoilers updated isn't IEs' responsibility. That thread is delegated to the capable hands of the player, Jutsa, and all changes to the options should be exclusively raised in that thread.

This thread is solely for objective spelling, grammar and punctuation errors, suspected macro errors and suspected validity errors that currently exist within the game.

This might be a bit of a nit-pick, but I recently got Issue #856 ("You Got Stones") and the effect line for Option Three is: art criticism in @@NAME@@ is scathingly destructive

When that's read in full on the nation page, it reads:

4 minutes ago: Following new legislation in Kylarnatia, art criticism in Kylarnatia is scathingly destructive.

Surely there's no need to mention @@NATION@@ in that sentence when it could just read:

4 minutes ago: Following new legislation in Kylarnatia, art criticism is scathingly destructive.

#609 starts: "A group of surprisingly hip and mellow businessmen have meandered over to your office,", and continues with "that will incidentally make them a truckload of money" and "economy-stimulating disposable incomes".

I should probably not be getting this on a nation with Socialism.

For issue #410 12 Angry, Tired, and Increasingly Confused Men, response 2 makes an assumption towards the leader's marital status, insisting that your leader has a mother-in-law. Is this the correct place to raise an issue about this?

Never noticed that, good spot. Done back in the days before I ranted about player autonomy. Also, of course, it assumes the existence of marriage, which isn't true for every nation.

I'll make an amendment to just "Mother".

The Hand That Feeds

Postby Noruway » Fri Mar 01, 2019 1:57 pm

I've been thinking about discussing what I feel are missing options in an issue or results of them that doesn't make sense to me. Is this the right place for that? Either way, I just came across something I found seemingly glaringly wrong.

In the issue "The Hand That Feeds", why do your cheese exports go down when you pick the last option? The agriculture section grew by 31,950%. Aren't livestock part of agriculture?

Almost. This thread is for grammar and spelling mistakes.

There should be a "the" between "ravage" and "welfare".

Hello!

I recently encountered an issue (#167) that I believe has a typo in option 1.
I think "want" should be "wants"

“Fluoride has been shown time and time again to promote dental health,” argues Dr. Edwin Namel, Chairperson of ‘Friends of The Teeth’. “It’s not an experimental drug for heaven’s sake, it’s an accepted method of promoting national good health. A nationwide program for the fluoridation of drinking water should not be seen as optional - it’s a no-brainer for any sensible government. We need to implement this now, whether the public want it or not.”
