I think Ransium's supposed to rewrite it or something? :P

That, yeah, the issue's construction is very disrespectful of player autonomy, and it wouldn't reach publication under our current issue writing approaches. However, its a relic of an older time.

Ransium's rewrite is on hold, so any established author thinks they can do a good job with it, then draft away.

I've already said before that #417 would be improved signifantly simply by having the "claim you didn't do that" option not automatically assume you're lying.

Cross-posting from the spoiler thread...

#196 should either use @@RANDOMMALENAME@@ for the first option, or use @@HE/SHE@@ referring to that name in the fourth option.

While I'm at it, I'd like a double-check on whether the validities for #271's gun and no-gun options are separated by whether guns are banned for everyone, or just for civilians. The latter would make more sense, but I have (rather outdated) info that this might not currently be the case.

Who is the pronoun at the beginning of #825 option 5 referring to? It doesn't seem to be the speaker, since in this report (listing it as option 4), the genders don't match.

There's some game engine clunkiness that makes this connect inconsistently, but basically the answer is "neither". Its based around whether guns are banned or not in statute.

This is something that needs fixing, as gun control is currently simulated in too unconnected and compartmentalised stats, and the system needs unifying. I've raised it in the past, but will push it again.

Referring to the previous speaker, but bad macro coding. Fixed.

From #489.2:
‘Men Under Arms’ calendars, photobooks and idol-memorabilia? That way, anyone who wants to can get behind a soldier. Mmmmm”

There should be a full stop after 'Mmmmm'.

Shouldn't some of #281's options look different for communists?

Or just make it ineligible for them, since all services should be provided universally by the government by default in communist nations.

EDIT: Also, Arceus Domains claimed to have gotten #358 on a nation with vat-grown citizens, which also shouldn't be possible.

Agreed. Made ineligible for communist nations.

The code shouldn't allow that. Can you confirm which nation this was? I note Arceus Domains itself is NOT a nation with vat people.

So, not exactly a "fix" for an issue, but a suggestion.
on this issue: #193: Robots Leaving Workers Jobless

The Four Options you have are pretty much "ban robots", "let people hire as many robots as they like", "turn your workers bionic" and "return to pre-industrial era"

But, wouldn't it make sense, if the nation had a state-only industry and a high enough civil rights, for there to be an option of full automation? like, the industry is state-ran anyway. just go post scarcity. (I know in real life this wouldn't make sense, but this is NS. it's not really supposed to make sense)

Make a new thread, not here. I beleve the first post says this specifically. This thread is not for rewrites, it’s for grammatical fixes.

That being said, I do personally find it kind of strange how you need to either make a new thread or bump a really old one just to propose something about the writing. :P

Because generally when something like that gets suggested, it requires a lot of discussion and potentially drafting/editing for it to become viable (if the editors even want it changed), something a megathread like this isn't suited for.

Ambientalia confirms as being a nation with vat people.

On that basis it should be invalid for the issue Not Another Teen Pregnancy, and a test run confirms that it is invalid. The validity code is longstanding for many years, and functioning on test nations.

However it did answer that issue on 18.10.17. Also answered two other issues that day that were unrelated to that policy, and no issues the previous day.

Silly question: Was that issue assigned to you from before you instituted the vats, or did you receive it the same day you answered it?

If not, then this is a very odd bug indeed, as it all seems to be working fine in the testing room, and I'll be needing to flag that with the bosses.

Oh, yikes. I'm not sure about this. I acknowledge that I could have left that Issue alone for a few days, probably because I received others where I needed to find information. That nation is one of my least used puppets (and I think it's getting a single Issue per day, in fact). I checked the records for the last week and could not find an answer that has legalized or introduced the vats, though. If this has been a misunderstanding, I apologize for the lack of verification.

If you have issue notifications turned on, you can check when you got the issue here.

You instituted vats about a week ago - it was on your happenings feed when I checked earlier, but is now gone.

To clarify, this means that vats must have been instututed sometime between 13 Oct 2017 15:54 GMT and 14 Oct 2017 4:17 GMT.

Will keep a note on this one, but my suspicion is that you received this issue and stacked it for a while, and then instituted vats in in the interim. I can't reproduce the fault otherwise, and the validity coding seems to be functioning correctly.

Any further similar incidents from any nations, let us know.

Issue 843 option 3:
while pulling needles out of one of your interns’ back.

Wouldn't it be "intern's back", or possibly "interns' backs"? I'd find it kind of hard to believe that all of the interns share the same back,
although something like that has indeed happened to an ongoing storyline I've been reading on google plus.

Should I get #005 in a communist nation?

I guess that "Crown Casino chairperson" doesn't technically state that it's a private enterprise, but gambling still sounds pretty capitalist-y.

Hmm... looking at it, it reads "one of your interns' back". I think that might actually be correct as clunky as that looks. :?
