So perhaps it would be a better idea to look for these real life examples. Examples include most Western countries until the second half of the 20th century, Islamic countries, as well as many others. Another example could be Russia's anti-gay propaganda laws. You cannot seriously believe that a country where homosexuality is cracked down on by the force of law will allow people to be openly "gender fluid".

I mean, there's Iran, where being trans is legal and gay isn't

"Iran carries out more sex change operations than any other nation in the world except for Thailand. The government provides up to half the cost for those needing financial assistance, and a sex change is recognised on the birth certificate."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transsexuality_in_Iran

In Iran, the penalties for homosexual acts vary:

  • Men = execution
  • Boys = 74 lashes
  • Women = 50 lashes
That said, a person cannot be convicted without the testimony of four men.

There is an inclusiveness check, but a quick test of the individual item selected by Ransium suggests that it includes 100% of the population!

I will see if I can tweak that.

BTW, re your question, validity checks don't work that way. While we can search your previous answered issues manually, there's no game function to check which issue options you have answered in the past. Instead, some specific high-significance policies activate or deactivate flags, and those flags are what can be checked against.

Also, I'd note there's actually no issue effect that makes your nation explicitly "avowedly heterosexual". We can however check if gay marriage is allowed, or if homosexuality is illegal. However, neither of those flags is appropriate for us to check against for this issue.

Okay, tweaked so it's now the top 40% inclusiveness, rather than the top 100%. :)

LOL, I'm now imagining that a gay man can only be convicted if four other gay men testify that he slept with them.

"But I'm not gay, no, I've only slept with THREE men."

I know that's not what you meant, but it's what I imagined.

Actually, rhetorical questions allow for but do not require a question mark.

Believe it or not, something like that actually happens in the Turkish military.

Before DADT was repealed, I remember some classmates joking that they'd become bisexuals to avoid the draft if it were reinstated.

Issue #714, Option 2, Effect: The apostrophe should go after the S. The current effect line says that all of the nation's people are getting their milk from a single cow.

The line is:

state dairy cow's milk is a shear-thickening fluid that can stop small caliber bullets

To me, that seems fine. "Cow's milk" implies milk that comes from a bovine source, no more or less. This is standard usage.

"A cow's milk" would imply one cow, but "cow's milk" is the category of milk in general.

If that's the intent, then it would be better, I think, to use "cow milk."

Option 748.3: "“That’s communist claptrap! It’s not for you to spend MY taxes on other people’s health,” says Alice Bone, CEO of Panacea Private Medical Services. “Look, I will help these people out of my own pocket, for no reason other than that because I’m super-duper charitable and a really great guy!..."

Is somebody called Alice (a girl's name) supposed to call herself a "guy", or is that a quirk that can't be ironed out or has no need to be?

Issue 576, option 2: “You see where this slippery slope has brought us to?” asks Björk Fraser, of lobby group 1stDoNoHarm. “You tell people it’s okay to kill themselves, and that’s what they’ll do. You tell doctors its okay to let people die, and that’s what they’ll do. What’s next? Murdering the learning-disabled or those with the wrong skin colour? Change the government’s message, Prime Minister Ryan Peters. Choose life.”

"Its" needs to be "it's" since it's a contraction.

So, I just had the issue about workers in IT striking. I chose to give the workers what they wanted and a pay increase of 20% over 2 years. The game reacted as if I'd given the corporations what they wanted... the right to fire them whenever they wanted, and not raise their pay whatsoever... and now my nation is plagued by daily strikes and I'm being called a "Corporate-run sham democracy". Considering that's the opposite of what I'm going for, it's rather annoying.

Daily strikes is the effect for giving the workers what they wanted: giving in to one group of workers as you did encourages all of the others to strike for higher pay, too...

In the title of Issue #161 ("Where There’s A Will There’s A Tax"), should there be a comma after "Will", or is it supposed to be written like that?

Issue #001, option 1:
“There’s a simple solution,” says Pastor Felix, of the Catholic Church. “Divorce should be illegal. ‘For better or worse,’ anyone remember how that goes? We should return to the good old days, when you got married for life and stuck by your partner no matter how much of a drunken, abusive, adulterating disappointment they turned out to be.”

Shouldn't that be "adulterous", rather than "adulterating"? The latter term actually has a different meaning, which doesn't seem particularly relevant in this context...

I've always used "guy" for both genders, but I realise that's not globally or even nationally universal. Changed to "person".
