Noted, thanks.

It probably won't be changed until the next batch of issues are added to the game. The Issue Mods are a bit busy at the moment.

The issue "An Affair To Remember" contains word repetition in the first choice:

"I think you're forgetting the real reason why people have affairs," suggests noted socialist leader, Fleur Laine. "Everything seems more tempting when you have nothing to lose. How can you blame these people for turning to turning to, shall we say 'alternative partners', when they lack the skills to provide for themselves? If the government funded some new job training programs for the unemployed and increased the welfare budget just a tad, you will not only lower unemployment rates, but adultery along with it."

The typo in question is in red.

Issue #209, Students Demand Financial Aid

Postby Aibohphobia » Sat Jun 09, 2012 12:32 am

1. "We need money now," screams Mohammed de Groot, a student from one of Aibohphobia's top achieving universities. "All these tuition fees are just too much! I need that money to spend on books, study materials, accomodation, and alco- well, uh, you get the gist of it. All these fees are doing is preventing people from poorer backgrounds achieving their potential. The government ought to pay for all university expenses. After all, if nobody went to university, where would all the doctors and teachers come from?"

2. "OH GOD, NO, THE EXPENSE!" screeches Louis Dodinas, your minister of Education, before eventually calming down. "No, no. This is not a good idea. Do you know how high the tax rate is already without introducing something like this? We should be making tuition fees higher if anything. University is a privilege, not a right, and only the elite should be allowed within those walls. And by elite, of course, I mean rich."

The punctuation in red is the punctuation that should be there, but is not.

The commas, sure, but not the dashes. I'm not sure why you think those dashes are necessary.

Also, keep in mind that speakers don't always follow grammar rules.

Luna Amore, well, in nowaday English the dashes aren't necessary, I fear. But, back in the old days, when I was... Anyway.
In this particular issue the absence of commas made reading it quite a painful task.

Another minor mistake:
"Seconds ago: Following new legislation in Aibohphobia, major internet servers have acquired citizenship and are voting in national elections".
My nation has elections banned. For everyone.

I believe that is the result of allowing AI rights and citizenship. Judging by the spike in Political Freedoms you just had, my guess is that by giving AI rights, you also gave them the right to vote. Congrats on your new elections. :p

Consider yourself corrected :p. The text about elections shows up despite there being no elections, so this is indeed an inconsistency in the issue.

Issue #147, Military Budgets Up For Approval

Postby Aibohphobia » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:06 pm

6. "The military is a stain on the peace-loving nature of our nation!" cries Howard Jefferson, while sporting a Rastafarian hat. "People should be allowed to choose what they do for a living! Conscription is wrong and I don't see why our tax convolutions should go to such a despicable cause! The money should be going to more important places - like our pockets!"

The word currently used is "Rastifarian"

A google search for 'Rastifarian' produces 'showing results for Rastafarian' so I believe the issue is correct.

A google search for "salfdwe;AE" produces results as well.
I wouldn't be mentioning the mistake if it weren't one.

P.S. Take a closer look at the results of the search.

I'm sorry, you're making the claims that we're wrong, yet we're expected to do your leg work?

I'm not seeing your spelling in any credible source. The issue is correct.

I misread this post. Yes, it should be Rastafarian (or Rastafari) not Rastifarian.

To avoid confusion in the future, just bold the mistake in a quote and point out what it should be out of the quotes. For example:

6. "The military is a stain on the peace-loving nature of our nation!" cries Howard Jefferson, while sporting a Rastifarian hat. "People should be allowed to choose what they do for a living! Oh we currently use that word. I thought you meant the religion currently uses that spelling.

Like Luna said, try and be more clear in point out mistakes in the future. So much unnecessary confusing and googling.

Another thing I wanted to mention for a long time...
All the double dashes in issues could be replaced by "—", to make it all a little bit neater. But that would probably involve a lot of hard labour...

Jesus Christ, no need to be so rude about it. It said "Help us fix old issues", it's an old issue, and it could use fixing. How the hell was I supposed to know this was a spelling and grammar fixing thread, by osmosis?

I just got the issue "The Empire Strikes First", and I noticed a spelling/grammar mistake in one of the options.

It currently says
Diplomatic bureaucrat Matilda Fellow remarks calmly, "There's no need to go off half-cocked. It would be much better if we used some international body - the World Assembly, say, or a the South Pacific tribunal - to investigate these rumours objectively for us. That way we have the international community on our side, and no one can accuse us of playing judge and jury. It will be well worth the extra diplomatic costs and bureaucratic red tape."

I underlined where I think the mistake is :) I'm not sure if it was supposed to be "at" or if there just wasn't supposed to be an "a" there at all.
Political Compass Score:
Economic Left/Right: -6.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.15

That's not actually a mistake, it's just a result of sentence structure and the name of the region, which happens to be "the South Pacific".

If you lived in a region called "Mighty", that sentence would read "the World Assembly, say, or a Mighty tribunal".

There's not much we can do about that I'm afraid.

Postby Aibohphobia » Wed Jun 20, 2012 10:26 am

The Issue

A national newspaper has uncovered details of a number of politicians' expenses documents, publishing claims from gold-plated toilet seats to elaborate steak dinners for dogs. Following the publication, the general public is clamoring at your door demanding answers.

Postby Aibohphobia » Thu Jun 21, 2012 10:05 am

3. "I can't believe what I'm hearing!" exclaims environmental activist Renee Strange. "Tree museums? Police funding? Don't it always seem to be the case that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone? We're talking about natural treasures and you're talking about destroying them. Is there anything that you can build that can really be better than nature? We should put a stop to all encroachment into natural areas. Think about it for a moment!"
