the horniness of the great-horned purple fairy deer is considered a national priority.
O Solitude!
O Solitude! If I must with thee dwell, let it not be among the jumbled heap of murky buildings; climb with me the steep,— nature’s observatory—whence the dell, its flowery slopes, its river’s crystal swell, may seem a span; let me thy vigils keep ’mongst boughs pavillion’d, where the deer’s swift leap startles the wild bee from the fox-glove bell. But though I’ll gladly trace these scenes with thee, yet the sweet converse of an innocent mind, whose words are images of thoughts refin’d, is my soul’s pleasure; and it sure must be almost the highest bliss of human-kind, when to thy haunts two kindred spirits flee. — John Keats❤❤❤

Huh. I thought I had code in place to catch these, as I have several times in the past when I reported spurious spaces there. So why did this one appear fine on my end?Candlewhisper Archive wrote:Re: effect line #986, it was simply a double-space instead of a single-space at the start of the effect line. Now fixed.
Trotterdam wrote:#304 option 3: should either change the comma after the name to a period, or start the next quote ("but there's...") with a lowercase letter. Option 6 should definitely go with changing the comma to a period.
Meanwhile, in a new effect line (EDIT: #984 6), "hammer and sickle-wielding" is a valiant effort, but I think it would look better going all the way to "hammer-and-sickle-wielding". ("Hammer- and sickle-wielding" is also valid English, but would imply some of them wielding hammers and others wielding sickles, rather than all of them wielding both.)
EDIT: As per Altmer Dominion's report, #984 3 misses a closing quote.

“This is discrimination!” shouts Gabriel Gray, batting his eyelashes at the Grand Poobah so hard that the force blows out the candles. “VioletistsOnly.com shouldn’t be allowed to suspend our accounts just because we aren’t of the same religion, even if that religion is part of their name. Make the owners reinstate our accounts, even if they don’t want to! This is not about religion. This is about freedom, my freedom as a single man to date whoever I choose! Plus, those purple robes are kind of cute.”

A recent article in The Griswall Naysayer has exposed a dirty little secret: prison wardens have been quietly exporting the organs from executed criminals and pocketing the proceeds. Enraged citizens, particularly victim’s rights organizations, demand retribution.

politicans --> politicians

Should be "whomever."

So, I have the “State Press” policy, and it is somewhat strange that a state controlled body would come out and blast other officials of the state. Just saying.

Whether or not to have privately-run prisons is itself the topic of an issue (#159), so their existence isn't something that can be assumed without trouble.The Free Joy State wrote:I'm not sure that this is a problem, as this issue doesn't necessarily -- in my opinion -- have the media coming out against government officials, per se, as there's no requirement for jails to be state-funded. That's normal. Once you've answered, the line doesn't change (although it should update in any issues folders where people haven't answered it yet).
The line definitely has been updated (I just triple-checked it).

If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. | Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’James 1:26-27, Matthew 7:21-23

I mean I know the result got rid of prisons (which I didn’t intend...but that’s the nature of the game I guess) but my authoritarianism went down. Regardless, I’m not sure how throwing all criminals to their deaths and having others watch decreases authoritarianism. It should raise it. Now citizens truly have a reason to fear committing crime.

This belongs in our Unusual Effects Thread.
However, I can tell you, while a rise in authoritarianism is programmed with this option, the effects it ultimately has depends on where you are, and can be partly counterbalanced by the banning of jails, and making prisoner punishment into entertainment (allowing people to profit from prisoner punishment).
In your case, your civil rights are very low, so this option actually increased your civil rights. For most nations, it would increase authoritarianism.
