Mechanization/Cyberlimb issue

Postby Shrand » Sun Jun 26, 2011 4:54 am

Hey fellow nations,
yesterday i got a issue where manual workers were compaining about the ongoing mechanization of factories, and the choices were like that:
a) (not sure about this one) forbid any more mechanization
b) replace worker's body parts by machines so they can do harder work
c) return to the very start of industrialization and forbid the use of any machines in factories

I chose b) and the strange thing that happened is this: My economy dropped a little, nothing else changed. I think there is something wrong with that. usually you would expect the economy to raise, because all those cyberlimbs need to be manufactured, they get sold, production effectivity increases thanks to them and so on but workwers w/o them dont get a job, so civil rights should drop a little, because they are forced to give up a part of their body.

Higher production tends to cause unemployment.

That said however, it seems as the game uses both to determine the economic strength(both unemployment and production per capita).

Plus it costs money to replace every single person who works on a factory line's body parts with mechanics. I'm surprised that didn't significantly drop it. It probably costs around $2000 for one person to become a cyborg, multiplied by about half a million is a billion dollars right there, aussming you have a stable economy and your industry expendure is around 7-15%
Mallorea and Riva should resign

Those enhancements also need to be replaced after a while.
