I just got the following Issue. I was kind of surprised by the issue itself, but even more so by the lack of any reasonable response, until I remembered submitting the Human as the national animal...

The Issue

In a bid to provide a new revenue stream for Free Men of Earth's Beef-Based Agriculture industry, it has been suggested that Humans could be added to the menu.
The Debate

1. "The fact is, the Human population is out of control," says Beef-Based Agriculture spokesperson Bianca Utopia. "We have to do something about them anyway, so why not market them as tasty snacks? We could have Human kebabs, Human pies, Human-on-a-sticks--the possibilities are endless! Let's not pass up this golden opportunity to provide a feast, if you will, for our economy."


2. "I agree that something needs to be done about Human over-population," says random passer-by Prudence Gutenberg, "but eating them? That's kind of gross. Let's just shoot the ones we have to and shovel their bodies into ditches like normal."


3. "I am shocked and appalled!" declared SPCA President Beth Chicago. "If anyone needs to be culled, it's us humans. The Humans were here first, remember? We need to take this as a sign to get our industry--agriculture in particular--to back off. The Human is part of what makes Free Men of Earth a great nation!"

I hardly find Human to be a malicious use of a Human term.

There's the Grave Problem issue as well:

I seem to recall having read a Modly ruling that using "human" itself (referring to the species as a whole), was actually okay, and that the ban is only about referring to any sub-division of the species... but as I'm not 100% certain of this point I'd suggest that anybody wanting to use humans for this purpose ask the Mods themselves about it beforehand.

A mod could correct me, but I think the point to the rule is not to bar you from picking an entire species like Humans as your nation animal, but picking arbitrary categories of humans as animals (which could be offensive) like Gingers, Americans or Christians ect.
