Isssue Glitch? What?

Postby Free Pangea » Wed May 04, 2011 6:40 am

I got an issue saying that many writers were on strike demanding better wages. I went with the decision to give them the 20% increase but now the overview of my nation says strikes happen daily  . Can someone explain why this happened? Is this some kind of glitch? I would think that the option that said "get rid of minimum wage laws" would have caused this outcome (but I picket to give the strikers what they wanted and increase their pay).
Post away :D

Nope. Not a glitch. The issue effect descriptions often exaggerate, but because your goverment gave in to strikes, strikes become more common because you intervened and gave in to demands. Think of it as in terms of who you are giving more freedom to. In this issue it's either the workers or the employer.

Ok I think I understand. This also seemed to increase civil rights slightly which also makes sense (but the economy was unaffected).

In most (but not all) cases, relaxing industry laws increases the strength of the economy. Sometimes at the expense of other stats, other times not.

A good way to spot if an issue is dodgy is if the ratings that go up/down totally contradict what the option should do. The text descriptions on your nation page can be exaggerated outcomes from the choices you've made.
