Death Penalty On Agenda

Postby Astraeasia » Fri Apr 29, 2011 4:42 am

"This is a democracy, remember?" rhetorically questions Professor Tobias Licorish of the University of Greater Astraeasia. "That means that if the people want something, the people get it. I hate to say it, but in the name of political freedom, we need to accept that our country will have the death penalty."

"I'm sorry," says Civil Rights Unionist Chastity Shiomi, "but this travesty cannot be allowed to pass. If the government needs to crack down on lunatic fringe groups in order to keep our great nation free of the death penalty, then so be it. We must ban the politics of hatred and fear!"

I don't want death penalty but if I choose the second one will my Political Freedoms or Civil Rightts get decreased? I fear that because of this part ''We must ban the politics of hatred and fear'' Sounds like censorship and I don't want that for my country.

Thanks in advance.

Civil Rights actually increase when you ban the death penalty (and the opposition), but political freedoms do plummet.

I’m mostly here for... something to do, I suppose.

Option 1 raises political freedoms but lowers civil rights.

Option 2 raises civil rights but lowers political freedoms. Also bans extremist groups.
There was a signature here. It's gone now.
