This will be the official thread for the new region of Etrie. Here, we will discuss why you should join the region, foreign affairs (openly), and all other matters which may concern the region. Currently, it is very small, having just me in it, but it will grow in time! Essentially, I plan for the region to be a place with an active and close community and a variety of activities-some unique-, upon a bedrock of democracy. It will also be a region where you can express any sentiment you like-within the rules of the site and common decency, of course-, one of free speech. I will finish writing the region's constitution within three days, which will explain exactly how the democracy of the region will work (that will be, with a mixture of electoral and direct elements).
In terms of activities, there will be:
-An RP, conducted in the Etrie Roleplaying Region-yet to be made-, the theme and setting of which will be determined by a poll.
-An R/D Army which uniquely, will give the regions it raids back to its natives if they ask for such.
-A focus on lore-and-worldbuilding-it will be a place for those who are greatly into that to congregate and support or help each other in their endeavours of that subject.
-A merit system. Competition will be somewhat encouraged in the region, with there being a ranking of all nations by 'Greatest Contributions to the Game', taking in a number of factors including how many issues they have successfully submitted and how many WA Drafts they have written, and monthly awards for similar aspects of gameplay, and the forums, as well as service to the region. There will be ministers responsible for assisting and mentoring residents of the region to breakthrough and become successful in these areas.
-A Discord server and forums of our own will be set up, however, I am also pretty active on RMBs so hopefully that will spur much other activity in ours.
-We will collaborate with BOPDR to host debates and a political book club. If there is enough interest, other clubs could also be formed.
Do these things sound like fun? If so, waste no time in trying out the region! You can also request embassies with us if you think we share some similar values or think we seem cool. Only, but all, embassy requests from regions with more than 10 residents, at least 2 of whom are in the WA, will be accepted.
