So to cut off the inevitable "where are the defenders why aren't you doing anything" narrative (too late), the natives of the region declined our offer to help liberate it. Since we work for them ultimately and respect native wishes we didn't attempt a liberation. It's their decision to make.

Question: why does this need its own thread? Doesn't BoM already have a thread?

Back in my day, operations had their own threads outside of embassies sometimes, even when they weren't wholly joint ops! - which this one is. Sleepers from both Malice and TBH infiltrated the region, split the trigger, and have co-planned next steps ...and honestly by this point, LWU has been instrumental in garnering support as well. It does not belong in any one thread, because it is an endeavor of Raider Unity.

Flights in Canada are prohibitively expensive, so BoM has sensibly elected to save money by setting up their raid report in Canada, instead of travelling back to the BoM thread to do it.

From a Moderation point of view, we've always been fine with significant military options getting separate threads of their own. It can help to encourage more discussion on them.

But seriously, I’ll never understand why the good people at Canada have continuously believed that the best way to represent Canada is to reject peacekeeping and rules-based order, use the Gray Lecture for kindling, and carelessly invite land invasions of itself. If you actually invaded Canada, the invasion wouldn’t make it past Tatamagouche — and that’d just be the locals, CAF would still be on its way! Canada is like the Epcot pavilion, selling beaver sweaters and maple syrup, but without imparting any of the country’s actual values.
