Overview

Welcome to the enchanting tales of Kung Fu as we embark within NationStates gameplay as The Valley of Peace! We are a relatively new region founded on the early hours of 20th of March 2022 with the aim of bringing nations of all kinds in our friendly community with a chance where they can actively express themselves and their views in an open and laidback manner in an inclusive environment.

Summoning The Elements

This month, Valley of Peace hosted its first ever Elemental elections. All Valley Members were able to pose their candidacy and vote for theirs preferred representative. In total, six nations declared their candidacy, however three of them had to be eliminated due to attempted manipulation of the election by using multiple puppets. This means that the other three candidates Nilands, The Islands of Man and New Domale won by default and are now bestowed the honor to represent all people of the Valley in the regional government. In a second round, the vacant Wind Elemental was elected, with a total of four villagers running for the seat and Rakim coming out as a clear winner after a voting period of three days. The elected Elementals will now take on their offices and will soon get to work drafting and passing legislation for the Valley in the Peach Tree Hill.

The Collective Valley Initiative Introduced

Grand Master and Delegate Oogway has recently launched the Collective Valley Initiative, Valley of Peace's new World Assembly program to incentivize the exchange of endorsements within the region to increase our influence and voting power in the World Assembly. By endorsing other Valley members, it is possible to be awarded with four different badges and with some luck even win epic or legendary cards. All residents are encouraged to join the World Assembly and endorse our delegate! More information about the Collective Valley Initiative can be found in the according dispatch.

Raising Our Flags With Pride

This June saw Valley of Peace celebrating Pride Month and painting the whole region in rainbow colors. But this is not the only thing we did to celebrate: Earlier this month, Grandmaster Oogway announced an Asian Flag Competition and encouraged all Villagers to create alternative versions of Asian flags. In the end, two different flags were submitted and Cambrionia's entry won the contest:

After a few months of settling in, building up the region and forming a functioning government, the Valley has started opening up to the broader NationStates world and reaching out to other regions last month. Two new embassies have been established, one with The Eternal Order and another one with The Order of the Grey Wardens and we are looking forward to prospering relations with them in the future!

We actually use Adobe Creative Cloud Express, it’s a pretty neat graphics template and resources provider usually with inputs from the community there and general media variety from posters to symbols etc. Good from starting at scratch as well, though some features require monetary means to use them.

Regional Report

The Valley of Peace, with the inception of this report, marks the region’s six month period in its existence. We, as such, felt it was necessary to assert our Community Members and readers abroad on the general state of affairs within the region on this day.

On the recruitment front, we certainly were industrious and had achieved our 200 nation mark in the beginning of the recent TikTok boom a few days ahead of schedule of this day which were one of our objectives beforehand and are immensely proud of this achievement especially considering we exceeded expectations and jumped to near 300 nations as a result of the influx of nations. I had departed for a while with the above in mind and we slowly creeped back down to the two-hundred nation mark, however, this was anticipated. We have begun a new revitalization of our recruitment efforts in the end goal of achieving our status back to that mark that we sustained beforehand alongside a springboard of an introduction of a new residential recruitment program in the works driving this change forward. Overall, we have done what was necessary for the continued health of our regional population levels as a whole.

On the Foreign Affairs front, we have established upon our foundation, the basis of neutrality in the conduct of all our FA partnerships and interactions to satisfy our emphasis on general principles of pacifism which we have been an unabashed upholder of ever since our inception. The purpose of the policy was to be a friend of all regardless of their alignment as long as they otherwise suited our general values. We are delighted and grateful to have our first friends from The Order of the Grey Wardens, Caer Sidi and The Eternal Order of which the two former were historical allies and figures of importance since the demise of the Kingdom of Fylkirvegr and Trovons. We have been actively conducting our Foreign Affairs reports as consistently as feasibly possible for now with the future paving the way to new joint-events and recreation between our interconnected communities.

Within the World Assembly, we have been actively progressing from strength to strength in our overall engagement and thrust into productivity from our residents in terms of WA endorsements exchange and Delegate endorsement encouragement and uplifting in our collective voting power. The Valley of Peace has exceeded over 50 WA Members last month with the following of the TikTok boom in correspondence with our population levels. The Collective Valley Initiative has certainly done wonders for the Valley with inconsistent yet overall improvement in our regional endorsements exchange with various awards handed out and cards collected for residents as incentive. We are proud of our residents assertiveness, but more so collaboration with one another to break new frontiers as we hit the top 75 regions in World Assembly Endorsement averages. Well done!

The Fantasy-themed roleplay has seen some interest in participating, however, has suffered from some inactivity on that part that we are working with godspeed to hopefully improve on in the future alongside the regional centre ceasing to exist which did not help our efforts, regardless, the somewhat continuity of the project undergone here shall be prolonged as lengthy as needed as we hope to knit some loose ends to offer a more atmospherically pleasing world to roleplay within with significant findings on our Azgaar map in terms of improvements with the addition of Biome and Cultural map. We are also currently building up the lore for the world for better familiarity among newcomers within the current canon.

On some final aspects we have seen consistent engagement in our in-game electoral polls with the Elemental body which we should anticipate our relevant winners soon enough, but more so previously with Community Leaders stepping up to the role of expectation we see in them. We are pleased also with the consistent activity rates and hope none falter soon though we do believe there is room for improvement. In the near future we would also like to kickstart more frequent cultural activities for our residents to engage with on our Discord Server as well as in-game.

Ultimately we are proud with what this region has achieved in a mere six months and are anxiously excited to our future endeavors and pursuits as Community Members of the Valley of Peace in this bewildering game we call home.
