You get to control the region, destroy it's WFE, change their flag to yours, destroy all embassies and suppress all native members posts. You can sort of overlord over them.
If you have enough raiders with you, you can lock the region , expel all natives and refound the region as your colony or trophy.

You won’t. Abuse regional controls all you like

Edit: but you can’t have more than one WA nation at the same time. That will get you warned.

Raiding is "legal" in NS. So the mods won't touch you. But you have to play by the rules. Like Comfed said, only one nation per player in the WA. And don't use any scripts like the Predator which landed a whole raider group into trouble from mods and got perma deleted.
So, have fun by raiding. Be civil in your language. Learn about how a region updates, when to sneak into the region and terms like jump point, trigger etc.
