Don't see why it couldn't just be the World Fair/WF, most of us know what website we're on.

Call it "Yearly Event Congregating NationStates Players On Several Platforms To Discuss Several Topics And Generally Have Fun", YECNSPOSPTDSTAGHF for short, I'm sure that'd be an easier acronym to take than NSWF.

Point is, the name doesn't matter as long as we can get something out of it, right?

First off, what is the the NS World Fair?

Secondly, why not just call it World Fair of NationStates 2020 (WFNS '20) or just the NationStates Expo 2020 (NSX 2020)?

Third, when were the first 8 and what happened at the last one?

NSX 2020 sounds cleanest out of any of the other recommendations. Also it has an X which is one of the coolest letters in the latin alphabet.

I think members The North Pacific ensured that The NS World Fair was indefinitely tarnished.

If we do go ahead with it, nobody who was on the previous fair's planning committee should have any level of involvement.

Due to defamation rules I can’t give the full rundown on-site, but a couple members of the NSWF Administration Team who also happened to be Administrators in The North Pacific banned Imkiville from the WF based on unfounded allegations rooted in a personal vendetta (by a former TNP Delegate who has thankfully mostly quit the game since then) without any of the standard due process.

It happened roughly in the middle of the World Fair, and basically killed it on the spot. Personally, I don't want to see it return, but if it does there needs to be a serious increase in standards for the moderation part of it.

There is no single host region but a single delegate from multiple commended regions that work together!

As a member of the aforementioned committee, I still think there's merit to the idea of a world fair, though I think it would be wise to change the name and concept a bit to avoid affiliation with the previous run of fairs. Whether or not it's just to judge the whole project based on the failures of the last one is irrelevant because the brand is tarnished at this point. I've taken responsibility for the mistakes we made, and I hope any future events learn from our mistakes.

One recurring problem is that who is and is not blacklisted varies from region to region, so no one will ever truly be happy with decisions to exclude (or not exclude) certain players. I have no interest in trying to adjudicate that, and I hope whoever takes up the mantle of this event gives this issue some serious thought and lays out their rules upfront.
