The stain of your association with us will never leave you. It's only a matter of time until another apology is demanded of you. The world is quite the unforgiving place.

It is not the apology that matters. You can apologize as much as you want to and nothing will happen if you don't do anything to change. Only the actions that come after your apology really matter. If you do nothing to change, you can't expect forgiveness from people.

If forgiveness does not come immediately, you wait it out. You take the backlash and the consequences of your actions. You prove to everyone that you are capable of change and that you are not the same as you were before. Your region failed to do all of this.

This. And the biggest thing I wish people would realize before posting shit like this is that nobody owes you forgiveness immediately. Change yourself for yourself and take a good long work to rebuild yourself and people will see behavior over time.

"I'm sorry, now forgive me or I'll openly double down on shit" is a bad take and CCD should feel bad for it. Take your licks for shitty behavior and get better without expecting everyone to suddenly love you for apologizing.

Depackya wrote:Silly? I would think not. Forgiveness is quite dead. Time and time again, I have seen people apologize for actions, only to be driven into the ground for acknowledging that they committed them. So the process begins for yourself.

As I said, you would do well do realize this.

If your apology was sincere, you'd commit to it regardless of how it's received by others. If you withdraw your apology when you don't get the reaction you wanted, then your apology was insincere and no one is obligated to take it any more seriously than you did.

"I'm sorry" isn't a magical get-out-of-jail-free card that exempts you from the consequences of your actions. It's a sign that you're willing to atone for your past misbehavior, and stop continuing said misbehavior. Or, it's supposed to be. A lot of people seem to miss that step.

While it may be tempting to point out the rather glaring flaws in Depackya's logic, I would appreciate it if we could all refrain from responding to his messages. I partook in this forum charade once, regretfully, and currently Depackya's getting what he wants. Depackya posts with the intent to cause a ruckus and for people to reply angrily. Don't give him that satisfaction. Not here, of all places.

I would agree with this, although in a slightly kinder way :P

It's encouraging to see an acknowledgement of wrongdoing, but now's the part where you have to start making up for it. If you mean what you say, then you should know this, and act accordingly. I'm sure you'll do fine if you stick to your principles and mature a little- just give it time.

The flip side of that are people who never apologize despite having done wrong.

I mean they're both bad: Apologizing expecting forgiveness vs not apologizing to people who are owed an apology.

Oh well that's life

The third bad thing is apologizing to someone who doesn't deserve an apology

Stop giving misogynistic abusers a platform. Anyone who sides with Tiktok Star Andrew Tate even 1% of what he says will be treated as enemy who should be shamed out of society. Impressions+Views+Videowatches=$. Nothing he says is new or revolutionary. I don't care if he said "some good stuff", it's still bad because: the more you watch him, the more ad revenue MONEY and algorithm BOOSTS you're giving him to traffick victims. And don't say the victim lied, a young man stupidly told me that the victim confessed to lying, I told em to link me proof, articles or the Audio of her confession, he googled and found 0 proof 0 articles, and he realized he was spreading fake rumors he heard and BELIEVED without fact-check. Don't brand victims as liars without GOOGLING. Debated here

Forgiveness is only as dead as the actions taken to follow it up are. Acknowledgement is one thing, actual change is another. I tried to remind you guys this, but to no avail. As for your concerns over Rein, let him do as he wishes. Should his apologies go unaccepted, that is his concern. You have neither right nor reason to advise him, especially given how the advice you and your people have given continually reaped nothing but failures, myself being one of them.

I am not stopping him from attempting an apology, however ridiculous it may be. I am simply stating facts which, in my personal experience, have been found to be true over and over again.

I'll be waiting for them to come for you next to demand a public apology, given your own past experience with us, as well as your attempted infiltration, and attempted overthrow, of TNP's delegacy.

I take my leave for now.

The hypocrisy in this statement truly is beyond belief.

Not just hypocrisy, it's disgusting in general. Why shouldn't people be able to apologize for their actions? OP apologized because they had a change of heart and realized their own wrongdoings, not because they wanted sympathy.
This type of thinking is morally wrong and I have no idea why anybody would think that.

Ah. The arbiters of moral absolutism ....hypocrisy isnt a good fit though, Wayne. Please read a dictionary before attempting to insult me. It would only be hypocritical had I flung myself on the floor, weeping, crying out for forgiveness. I do not seek such because online computer games do not warrant such.

Apologizing for typing an opinion is not a moral position at all. Why apologize for a belief of mine? Calling mu opinion disgusting and wrong is also simply opinion. Please brush up a bit on rhetoric before misquoting me again.

There can be a danger in public apologies, because you want to use your guilt and how you feel to back up your conviction not to do such things again, but it can be a double-edged sword by making you look like you're trying to hold a pity party to garner sympathy. That's what makes acting on your apology so important- it would be a much better use of everyone's time to accept the apology, move on and see if he lives up to his words, instead of pointless bickering about the ineffectiveness of public threads. He wanted us all to know he's sorry, now we know.
