Our current Minister and Guardian, Aelita, has been blocked from citizenship for security reasons.

WAIT! I'm out of the loop because I only paid attention to TNP for the last few years, but what happened here?!

This man, Aelitia, is the same person who STOPPED the Fedele coup, by being the POINT. He's a hero of TEP due to being ONE of the core people and one of the main reasons TEP was liberated from a close coup. Because what he did was -- Aelitia was the TEP Vizier Guardian with very high endorsement counts.

All alliance regions moved in and endorsed Aelitia ABOVE Fedele.

Aelitia banned Fedele and the coupers, and then restored TEP control to the natives and the old guard Viziers.

And telegrammed/helped the legally elected Delegate take the Delegacy place.

Then he went inactive from NationStates and moved on. Now he applies for citizenship to the region that he was the POINT for the liberation for, and gets rejected?

I wonder what happened here??? I'm dead af lol

i mean, current leadership in TEP is making toxic bedfellows in their foreign affairs, driving away long-time allied GCRs, getting rid of experienced people that could (and have) stopped coups, and their legislature has basically no safeguards against a power grab.

what happened here is that they learned nothing from what happened with Scar and are letting it happen again

Congratulations to The East Pacific for ridding itself of a treaty that has consistently stifled the military, foreign, and cultural growth of the Concordat Government.

I've always viewed The West Pacific as a fair-weather friend at-best, and think that the crying about "longstanding treaties being torched" is all a bunch of crocodile tears when the treaty held no benefit for TEP.

Guys as funny as "bringing me back" is, I can't return to TEP. Their accusations are false but I'm not someone to be "bought" back, I can't deign to return to a place that hates me. So I'm not subjecting myself to that environment or ever.

Enough jokes about me returning to TEP please. My legacy is greater than TEP, I did tons and tons of other things in other regions too XD

Because it's a farce and everyone knows it.

In the TEP leadership's desperate need to have a bogeyman to either distract the region from their disastrous FA debacle or to try to make the leadership seem powerful, they decided to go after some people who were unrelated to the events of last year. Halo was barely active in TEP (in case you don't know, he was TWP's Delegate at the time) and Badger, while active in TEP, was not even considered for charges at that time.

The following post represents my views and ideas as a proud citizen of TEP, but does not represent the views and ideas of The East Pacifican government or administration, and should not be regarded in any capacity as an official statement or response.

"The West Pacific hereby activates Article V of the Best Pacifics treaty, and is giving notice of our intention to end the alliance with the East Pacific."

Article V says "There will then be a seven-day period before the treaty cancellation is considered final" yet TWP ordered the closure of in-game embassies two hours before you even announced the cancellation of the treaty, thus violating Article II, "The signatories shall maintain in-game embassies (i.e., on the NationStates site) and off-site embassies (i.e., on their regional forums) with one another." while the treaty was still in effect.

"The bond that existed in this treaty has been frayed beyond repair, as shown by the recent treason charges upon our former Delegate Halo, and our former Delegate and Guardian Badger from actions resulting during the Coup of the East Pacific. Our current Minister and Guardian, Aelita, has been blocked from citizenship for security reasons. We have also been informed that our current delegate is formally banned from the region as well."

TWP fraying the bond with TEP beyond repair by inviting TEP to an event which glorified the unjust mass purges conducted by Fedele during his administration (mass purges which are conducted to this day in TWP), and then during this event repeatedly disrespecting people of TEP by granting the Vice Delegate a mask that disabled his privileges to read and write messages, then by providing only one WA piler during the recent delegate transition, which was far from enough to secure the seat, and of course by responding far too late during Fedele's coup d'état of TEP which TWP justified by saying they had to reach a mutual decision by the Cabinet, which is in directly violation of The Best Pacifics Treaty.

"As Article IV, section 3 of the treaty states that Clandestine actions from the other party are not allowed, we believe this to be an accusation made against us."

The treaty defines clandestine operations as "one or more persons acting under false pretenses in one signatory’s home region,regional forum or Discord, without that signatory's knowledge, and at the direction of the other signatory".

As such, action against Bran Astor for destruction of roleplaying assets does not count as clandestine action, as far as I know, but Aelitia Astor's coordinated attempt to seize the delegacy of TEP (which was later passed off as a mistake), as well as Halo and Badger's supposed acts of treason against TEP could count as clandestine operations, provided TWP directed those actions. However I respect your right to believe what you want to believe.

If Halo and Badger's trials, the barring of Aelitia from citizenship, and the ban of Bran Astor were done without any evidence, I would agree with you completely, but unfortunately, they were not. However I respect that you hold certain beliefs.

Unfortunately, I do not see why the lawful and evidence-backed prosecution of two TEP citizens who are also high officials in TWP, the lawful and evidence-backed ban of a TEP citizen who is also a high official in TWP, or the lawful and evidence-backed barring of a TEP resident from citizenship who is also a high official in TWP would have elicited "very hostile reactions", especially considering they are, as I've said, lawful and backed by evidence.

I do not believe that action taken against individuals that have harmed TEP and potentially could harm it again is the equivalent of lying during diplomatic negotiations made as a "good-faith effort" to preserve the treaty between two allies. But I respect that you can believe that.

If you have done nothing to destabilize The East Pacific, then you do not have to fear that TEP believes the actions of your officials to be directed by TWP, considering that evidence is the reasoning behind any action conducted by Conclave, according to law.

I do not either. As such, after the repeated hostile actions by TWP, I believe that, as the title of this statement clearly expresses, TEP and TWP are in fact Better Apart.

I honestly have no idea what any of this is about. TEP is doing amazing right now. The RMB is productive. The legislature is the biggest it's been in two years. We have FOURTEEN Viziers (security council officers - good luck to the next aspiring coup architect). The forum RP world is completely insane and has one of the most devoted and active communities I've ever seen. Just about everybody appears to be having a great time. Any smears about "TEP's decline" are circumstantially and utterly baseless and are an obvious and laughable attempt by those who don't particularly like the direction we've taken to try to undercut public opinion of us. Try harder.
