Over here in the UK, there was usually at least one 'Bond' film and one Disney film shown on [mainstream] television each Christmas during my teens... and 'Star Wars' (the original film) became a fairly regular fixture as well. Oh, and that's probably when 'The Wizard of Oz' was most likely to be repeated, too.

It's called Bell, Book, and Candle (1958) starring Kim Novak and James Stewart, and directed by Richard Quine. It's a quirky film about a witch in Greenwich Village who falls in love with a publisher around Christmas, and it gets weirder from there. Great film, a lesser known work of Stewarts, but still a good movie. Also, there's a cute cat.
