Benevolent Dictatorship

That time I crashed my economy by outlawing gambling, which also led to my nation losing its Benevolent Dictatorship classification (which I have already regained.)

The one that got Minoa corporal punishment… but it was long before the policies became public, and certainly a long time before Trotterdam began monitoring issues statistical effects.

I accidentally made my nation capitalist at the beginning of this month. That in itself isn’t that bad, and I fixed it eventually, but my stats have been all weird ever since then. My authoritarianism is rising, for example.

That’s probably tied with when I accidentally banned the Internet, lowering my science stats.
This nation is based on (a slightly more extreme version of) my IRL opinions, and I answer issues accordingly.

The issue I recently wrote doesn't have options with any disastrous effects or enact any policies, as I know from experience how annoying it is.

A few years ago I was half sleeping when I answered an issue, which resulted in the internet being banned. I'd had the issue before, I just selected the wrong option on account of not really paying attention due to tiredness.

It isnt an issue choice really, its rather me starting off as a socialist nation, at the time I didnt mind, but now I do, also my nation name is something I regret. Surprisingly, no crazy issue result I hate!

Recently I outlawed private enterprise entirely. It wasn't exactly my intention and my economy rating is still 100, but uh it wasn't the ideal solution.

My biggest problem right now is this issue of redistricting. I chose the wrong the solution and now my rural population is being ignored. :(

I accidentally established communism in a fascist nation. The irony is really bugging me.

Oh, where should I start ...

  • In another nation, I accidentally outlawed emigration. (I managed to fix it, though. Took just a few months.)
  • When the wealth gaps were way too high for my taste, I raised minimum wages and had suddenly an income equality that would make a communist country jealous, which also lowered my economic efficiency, so I picked a more business-friendly option in the next issue I addressed - only to have the same rich-poor divide as before. Congratulations.
  • Within a few issues, I lowered my people's lifespan from ~60 to 40 years, and I still have no idea as to how I managed to do that. (Fixed most of it, though.)
  • Various issue answers made my nation's black market boom, and it's still getting larger and larger (by percentage of my GDP) no matter what I do.
  • In another nation, I accidentally installed a Curfew policy. (Fixed it, though.)
  • I accidentally allowed child labor. (Fixed it, though.)
  • I think I do remember, that I made one of my other nations a slavery state, but I'm unsure if I recall correctly, and which one it was.

As you can see, I have a long record of making stupid decisions in NS issues. Since the policies and badges are, for me, cosmetic nice-to-have things at best, with no use for RP, it's not a catastrophe, but I often do wonder how I managed to be such a dolt in particular moments. ^^

Le EDIT: Since I know, that it will come - yes, I'm aware of the 'Require Confirmation' option. It's just, I think, life is too short for that. (In other words - I'm an incredibly lazy sod.)

Accidentally allowed child labor (fixed now). I've tossed stat-based puppets by the dozens once I mess up the stats.
In one in particular I accidentally enacted Corporal Punishment and I just couldn't get rid of it. After months I abandoned it for unrelated reasons, with the policy still in place.

I forget what it was exactly, but I chose an answer that I thought would increase civil freedoms, however it actually decreased it enough to take me down from my "Excellent" Civil Freedoms and Im still a little salty about it.

Enslaving and brainwashing wives around the nation. It was a while ago so I don't remember all the details other than that the black market almost quintupled in size, authoritarianism ironically dropped by a significant amount, and I just felt really bad looking at my stat changes. At least the subsequent addition of the slavery policy was thematically fitting, though I can recall a few instances where i would have enacted it anyway had it not already been in place.

An honourable mention would be whenever it was that I implemented the prudism policy.

anything related to taxes, political freedom, drug use, youth rebelliousness and civil rights

all but the last one are too high for my liking; the last is rather low from my target

i'm also kinda annoyed that the 3rd and 4th almost always seem to increase proportionally with the last, which demotivates me

and then disposable income was introduced, so with my small regret of the high tax rate turning into infinitely large i kinda stopped caring about the issues

Apparently term limits are bad thing for political freedom, y'know because allowing a party to keep a single individual in office for life is a good thing  .
