The Democratic Republic's Weekly Update Thread
These weekly updates for the region are being made per Executive Order 15: "An Executive Order that creates and mandates the weekly maintenance of a forum thread in the "Gameplay" category of NationStates wherein the Consul will post a weekly update on either Saturday or Sunday EST where they will detail unclassified regional government activities that occurred during the week.". If you have any questions, comments, concerns, etc., then please post them here or contact a member of our regional government and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
04 May 2019 Update
The Democratic Republic (TDR) elected its new Consul (Azadliq) and its new Senate this week! The Senate quickly had its hands full with 6 cabinet and other nominations, 5 bills, and a constitutional amendment, all proposed in the span of the first 48 hours. Fortunately, the government seems to be getting along well, fueled by passionate debate, vibrant leaders, and caffeine (so much caffeine! ).
In our Defense Department, led by Fifj, we officially aligned our regional military with the International Atlantic Treaty Association (IATA). We've already run one admittedly minor detag with them and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.
As for the Interior Department, I've put Kingdom of the Celestials in charge of recruitment for the time being. With 16,000 stamps at his disposal and an assignment to figure out what API recruitment is and how it works, we have a goal to hit 120 nations by the end of the month.
Finally, our State and Justice Departments are working hard toward their respective assignments. Porto Verde has been working very hard on a new treaty proposal to bring fresh air to our relations. He's also engaged in an intensive search new regions to have active embassies with. Meanwhile, America JB has been working on various investigations.
Overall, our newly elected government is doing very well. We look forward to continued success and an increased presence in the international community-- starting with this weekly update.
