Also, I forgot to add this earlier: my region and I voted against this resolution despite being defenders. So this is not me just towing the defender line, this is me recognizing a region’s right to vote even if I disagree.

Joint Statement on the Signing of the Cerulean Compact

Thaecia and The Free Nations Region have enjoyed a long and prosperous alliance and friendship. Since the inception of the old Consortium, our regions have grown closer individually and as a group with our good allies of The East Pacific and The Alstroemerian Commonwealths. Although the Second Convention of Lausanne exists to bind the Lausanne regions together, the individual relationship between our regions has always been strong and worthy of individual maintenance. Lausanne brought us together, but it does not define us. This is no more evident than with the recent signing of our bilateral treaty, the Cerulean Compact. The signing of this treaty is not just a codification of our commitment to our diplomatic relationship but also a promise of future cooperation between our two regions as we look forward to prosperous development side by side. On 19th June, the Citizens’ Assembly of The Free Nations Region unanimously voted to enact a state of emergency pursuant to Article X of the FNR Constitution. Per the Constitutional definition of a regional crisis, the Constitution, the Assembly, and all elections are hereby suspended until the end of the crisis, and President Weatherwand is granted emergency powers under the watchful supervision of our Supreme Court. Following the passage of this vote, the President immediately formed the Frontier Task Force, a self-selected group of citizens working towards a single goal: the stable foundation of a Frontier region under the banner of The Free Nations Region to solve the activity crisis plaguing our region.

After nearly a month of hard work, The Free Nations Region emerges from our state of emergency stronger than ever. With the passage of a Constitutional amendment and a new law entitled “The Frontier Act,” FNR has reached new heights. The Commonwealth of Hive is hereby designated as the Frontier of The Free Nations Region. Together, we form the Free Nations Federation, a new government united in our core values of community, democracy, and opportunity. The Federation acts as a promise to all citizens, past, present, and future, to continue pursuing the continued prosperity of all. 15 July is hereby designated Federation Day, and declared a new beginning for our government and people.

To operate the Commonwealth, the Ministry of Frontier has been established. This ministry shall maintain the region’s theme and activity both independently of and in conjunction with the other Ministries of the Federation. As elections remain suspended, the President has appointed South Asians (Hive: Mysterio) as Acting Minister. In the defense of Hive, the Chief Protector position has been established as a permanent delegacy within the Frontier, held by My Nation (Hive: A Puppet of My Nation), a Moderator and Presidential Advisor. In assistance to the Chief Protector, the Vanguard Council is established as a security apparatus, with First Vanguard Tigerania (Hive: Dysonsphereconstructors) as the first official member. This expansion to our government will ensure that the Federation is up to the task of maintaining two regions and one, larger, unified community.

Any allied regions seeking to amend their treaties affirming continued diplomacy with the Federation are welcome to contact Minister of Foreign Affairs Castenor on discord @mangegneithe, although the Constitution applies all laws and treaties equally to all regions of the Federation. Any questions about the Federation’s foreign policy may be directed to the same.

It will work the same as FNR itself. We will have the same legislative assembly, same discord server, same government and same laws (except a few laws specifically made for Hive because of our plan to make it a Frontier).
The Ministry of Frontier is built in order to form a link between the Free Nations Government and Hive. It will look after the day-to-day operations of Hive and ensures that Hive stays on the loop with all the things happening within the Federation.

Federation Minister of Foreign Affairs Castenor was sitting at his very official, respectable, and expensive desk, looking through very official, respectable, and expensive—wait no—very official and respectable documents, when he looked up at his very official, respectable, and expensive computer at the Lo-Fi girl “beats to relax/study to” YouTube stream. Upon seeing the anime art style in the thumbnail, he realized with shock that the Alstroemerian Commonwealths did not yet have a treaty with the Free Nations Federation, despite their close diplomatic relationship ranging over years of embassies, interregional exchange, and multilateral cooperation. I mean, they did A.N.A.L.* together for crying out loud.
*Anime Nations Against Liberals, an N-Day Faction.

Suddenly jumping to his feet from his very official, respectable, and expensive rolly chair, which he used to do spins, Castenor sprinted down the hall to his other office, which was covered in posters of anime he had never seen. Tostandia and Lucklife had pranked him by sending a bunch of anime merch to his office, and he just sighed and put it up. He went on his not respectable or official computer, for this was the office for silly goofy work, and opened discord.

“Hey wait a minute guys we don’t have a treaty with AC,” he wrote in discord, in the Federation’s cabinet channel. He then snuck into the AC government chat. “Hey guys AC doesn’t have a treaty with the FNF. Would y’all be down?”

Not long after, with the approval of the Commonwealths and the Federation, Castenor dragged the Federation President, Clarissa of Weatherwand, and Deputy MoFA, BunkerSnake of Waste land zero, into a group chat with the godless heathens of the Alstroemerian Commonwealths - Boro of Tostandia, Aurora Yukihime of Haaton Prime, Particle, and BlackLight Covenant, the elusive idol of the Cov Super Cult.

After he nearly fell asleep writing a boilerplate treaty, and priding himself on using the word boilerplate after he saw it in the NSGP forum three times in one month, Castenor was struck by an idea. He invited Lucklife to the chat. Seconds later, half the computers were on fire, and the boring dumb official respectable treaty was replaced with a masterpiece of art and diplomacy - the Inclusive Democratic and Oligarchic Leadership Concert. The IDOL Concert. Despite their political and ideological differences, the Federation and the Commonwealths came together and, with the help of resident gremlin Lucklife, created something truly horrifying.

The Federation and the Commonwealths are very happy to announce the ratification of this treaty by their respective governments, and the subsequent adoption of this masterpiece as binding law in their regions. With a long history of working together and goofing around in the halls of the Lausanne alliance, we look forward to a long future of the same.
