I'm very curious as to how a card is categorized. Unfortunately I just can't figure out how it works aside from maybe population and being in a higher percentage of a rank. So does anyone have any idea how it works?
Population and rank do seem to play a role -- so simply staying active, answering issues in a way to bump preferred stats. Larger importance is placed on things that provide "badges" to your nation page: WA authorship, Issues authorship, Issues Editor, Moderator, Mentor, Easter Eggs
Edit: also Founding a region, Delegate of a region...perhaps simply being in the WA? not sure about that last one. Perhaps Influence / Endorsements, too...

Edit: also, being in GenSec or being Commended/Condemned.
Note, though, that existing cards won't change: It's only when a new edition of them gets issued that you'd see any difference.

The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed (includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.
