The concept of War in NationStates.

Hello, I recently created a new account, and I just found out you can actually have wars in this game, rather than just dealing with petty squabbles.

Out of curiosity, how do wars work in this game? In the future, I may declare war if needed or to have fun with possible future friends in this game.

Apologies for this being short, words are few for how I can explain my question.

There isn't any gameplay mechanics relating to war in any way, despite what the issues seem to imply. However, you can use RP and factbooks as a substitute.

I see, so it has to do with roleplay, thank you for informing me.

There is no conventional war mechanic, no. However, it is possible to invade a region. Similarly, it's possible to defend a region. This is done through electing a World Assembly delegate in a region.

If you're interested in raiding (invading a region), I suggest you join The Black Hawks, Lone Wolves United, or Osiris. If you're interested in defending regions, The Order Of The Grey Wardens or 10000 Islands are places to consider.

No Gameplay mechanic can do that but you can simulate war with other nations through Roleplay in the International Incidents forum. You can declare war and wage war through IC threads and organize necessary logistics and statistics through an OOC thread. The best war threads depend on player quality.

(>.> fair point... but Lily only tags. I'm also not sure how great Lily is for total new people. They do a lot in a single update)

There is more than roleplay. There is nothing for nation vs nation mechanically, however it is possible to raid an entire region. This is done by entering a founderless region with enough people to take the delegate position, thus taking complete control of the region.

However, if you stand for peace and justice, you can also become a defender, and join the Imperial Japanese Navy, in Yokosuka. You don't have to be just a raider to get into military gameplay.

Do any of you think there are any coders out there willing to make a browser extension or seprerate website or something to add a war mechanic?

There have been two or three such systems mentioned in this forum or maybe in 'Technical' in the past, but I don't know whether any of them is currently working.
