What is 'Liberating' a region?

Postby Royuz Neroshimi » Mon Apr 01, 2019 8:27 am

Just a little question: what is the 'liberation' of a region? I heard it on the World Assembly and I'm not sure what it means: is it when you dismantle a region, where you lessen the influence of a region, when you invade a region, or?
Thanks.

A Liberation is one of three types of resolution that can be voted on by the WA Security Council. They have their own subforum and a Q&A thread which is where questions like this belong - General is mostly for non-NS stuff. Basically, Liberating a region removes any password it had and prevents a password from being put in place, allowing free movement into the region. The intention is to prevent raiders from occupying a region permanently and/or destroying it.

I'm not involved in the "gameplay" side of things (raiding and defending), but my understanding is that it is when you "free" a region from invaders. They do this by flooding in a region that has been invaded and endorsing themselves, in hope of becoming the WA Delegate.

Alternatively, it can mean the WA voting to "Liberate" a region, for whatever purpose -- usually a region that has been invaded, but often nowadays meaning an offensive maneuver against a region that promotes hateful rhetoric or actions, often "fascism". And this will remove the ability to password protect a region.

EDIT: I will concede to the more experienced above player that my first definition is probably incorrect.

Not quite correct: It only limits delegate-imposed passwords, with founders retaining their full powers in this respect.

It's pretty correct. but they don't flood as if they're puppet flooding. They move within the last few seconds or before the raider gets online, whichever is appropriate with only one WA nation. If there is a native delegate, they will endo that guy before the update and if there's none, one of their guys will hopefully become delegate. If the native former delegate becomes the delegate and however is not active, they may unendorse him and endorse one oneof their own guys to become the new delegate so they won't waste time.
