Mission Statement
Over the Rainbow is a gathering place for the NationStates LGBTQ+ community and allies. Whether you're a game player, a generalite, an issues player, a role player, a WAer, or just a player who enjoys casually socializing with friends, all LGBTQ+ players and allies are welcome here, Over the Rainbow.
There are several characteristics that define the governing philosophy of Over the Rainbow. We are:
- Egalitarian: We insist that everyone is equally worthy of being treated with dignity and respect. Every person has the same worth.
- Communitarian: We prioritize the needs of the community ahead of individual self-interest. Individuals are respected, but community comes first.
- Progressive: This region's government will always seek to advance unambiguously progressive values, while the community remains an open platform for debate and discussion between people of all anti-fascist political leanings.
- Inclusive: We are a welcoming and intersectional community. Any expression of bigotry or exploitation is strictly prohibited.
- Neutral: We don't care if you're a raider, a defender, if you're in the NPO, or anything in between. We leave that at the door here.
- Technocratic: Government portfolios are managed by those who know how to manage them, and thus are able to teach others.
- Meritocratic: Advancement in government is based on contribution to the regional community, not popularity contests.
