From my reading it wasn't about "inconvenient" it was more about security, while not probable I would guess it has to do w/ allowing one region to not put themselves at risk of being raided to defend their friend. Since both regions are without an executive founder (one being a GCR and TCB being founderless) it makes sense to have a line about making sure you don't hurt yourself defending your friend.

Unibot has his mental definition of the NPO and there's really nothing to be done about him saying that Proper Francoist Thought was themed after Mein Kampf instead of the Communist Manifesto, or that we're going to coup the entire site in the next few years, starting with our treaty allies and TEP in particular, or that we are suppressing democracy to retain power rather than because the populace actually hates voting and elections (most of our Voice of the People candidates have run on platforms of abolishing elections again), or any of his other things. If we took him seriously, I feel like I'd have a lot more headaches than I already get from all this. The guy tried to argue with Ivan Moldavi of all people on how NPO works and what it has planned. If that's not an indication of a brick wall mentality enforcing his personal misconceptions of just about everything the NPO is today, I don't know what is.

He can have fun digging through our anti-fascist track record to find evidence of fascism, or looking for secret chat logs denoting the next coup so he can come on the forums and yell about being right, or he can go up to our citizens and try to inquire about how oppressed they feel that random Tuesday under the evil NPO regime, and he can enjoy the frustration of finding nothing solid to result in a "gotcha!" moment. He's one of the people who is never going to adapt to the idea that when you ensure the expulsion of the members who enacted mistakes and plots in former administrations, you create something new that doesn't have to rely on what could be expected from the past. That's his problem if he wants to shout about our evil ways to the world and wait expectantly for something that will never happen.

I removed it because the rhymes weren't as clever as I thought they were when I wrote it initially. And I didn't want to sidetrack the thread with a discussion over whether NPO constitutes a fascist regime. It won't come as a surprise to the NPO that I disprove of their dictatorship and I continue to support the re-democratization of the Pacific.

NPO is categorically a fascist regime to the core, and the region has clumsily found itself trying to balance its contemporary anti-fascism for years with the fact it's a dictatorship modelled after primarily Italian and Spanish Fascism. I think people in NS have conflated anti-fascism with anti-racism as one in the same. I don't think NPO is racist. The New Pacific Order is the NS Equivalent of Neuordnung - New Order - the Nazification of Europe. The People's Republic of the Pacific (PRP) was an attempt to re-envision NPO as a Communist - rather than Fascist - Revolution, with Francoism as its central ideology - a pastiche of both marxism and fascism themes. Francoism has been dropped from the NPO, but the military dictatorship remains.

If NPO doesn't want to face accusations of fascism, it could elect its next "Emperor" (which in and of itself implies an Empire.) Ironically, given they're signing a treaty with Communists, their public rejection of Francoism makes it harder to square the NPO with Communism, as they've effectively lost the "class-based" justification for their dictatorship that they once relied on.

I suppose the question facing the NPO is, if you do everything you want to accomplish in the short term, and rebuild the NPO's diplomatic connections - what does the NPO do next? You've voiced no particular value set or alignment to replace Francoism. My sense as an outsider is the NPO is concerned rather myopically with reversing public opinion about its regime and signing treaties non-discriminately, but it's dangerously ignoring the question of what its goal will be as a renewed diplomatic superpower.
