Better Together is a fairly unusual name with a treaty, most of which have words like "Treaty" or "Accord" in their names. What is the significance of this title to NPO and TWP?

I mean, it literally can't be simpler:

bet·ter1
/ˈbedər/
1.
of a more excellent or effective type or quality.

to·geth·er
/təˈɡeT͟Hər/

adverb
1.
into companionship or close association.

There's absolutely nothing secret, hidden, malicious, clever or whatever about it. Better together. Literally.

And, the fact that as a Community we - NS at large - haven't been creative enough to come up with more interesting names for agreements more often is sad...

So yeah, anyway, what's your point? I'm kind of at a loss of what are you even trying to get from this question, mate. I swore this is the least expected question hahahaha

This is excellent news. Well done to both sides on putting this together.

Oh my!

That's a excellent treaty, and I've seen some treaties in my days. Very well put together! Kudos to the FA people on both sides.
By the way. I love creative treaty names!

Love TWP, especially Dilber and Mia!

It is great to see relations re-established. From this we will live up to the treaty name and continue to forge a better future.

Many congratulations to The West Pacific and The Pacific on agreeing this treaty.

Congrats to both the NPO & TWP on agreeing to this treaty. I for one like the name quite a lot, it's much different than other names and I like that

Congratulations to both regions on this new treaty!

It really is a well-written one, and I know something great will come of it!

Who wanted the sunset clause?

I, for one, hope "Better Together" is literal and we'll soon be seeing a Pacific federation :)

The whole treaty was written in tandem, word by word, through several meetings. I can't really tell you that X or Y was asked by any specific member, as it was all honestly very natural.

I'm particularly partial to sunset clauses since I originally met them in CN back in 2009, since they actually require the parts to actively maintain the relationship, and no real relationship lasts, in this realm or in real life, without maintenance and effort.

I'm sure the NPO is attempting to do diplomatically what they've sworn off doing covertly

Congrats and stuff to the happy treaty couple

I, for one, lobbied for Butter Together, but sadly it was rejected.

LD was being sarcastic, Badger. The eyeroll was the hint.

Were relations ever really severed in the first place?

They most assuredly were for a while. Rebuilding confidence and trust to reach formal relations again took time for reasons everyone knows by now. If there had been no changes or improvements, TWP would have had no reason to make a move to reestablish relations.

You'll forgive me if I take anything coming out of the Pacific with a grain of salt?

Of course. That's just a hazard of the job given past events.

And who are you exactly?

I mean, really asking here.

I understand the many people who has in the past been involved or affected by our mistakes taking what we say with a grain of salt. It's only natural and I have a lot of respect for what they feel...

But what have you ever had to do with us?

The treaty was worked on in tandem, with clauses being written based off mutual consultation. The West Pacific believes in sunset clauses as it ensures that diplomatic relations run on more than just inertia. We are testing this theory out with treaty, and expect to upgrade other treaties and sign new partners in this style.

Also, we did break relations and it was not for show. Personally, the NPO has heard my opinion on previous leadership. If the The West Pacific did not believe that the current senate is different from previous iterations, we would not have signed this treaty.

He's an Osiran.

I'm now imagining Elegarth attending to a massive, leather-bound reference book titled "REGIONS WE SCREWED (& OTHER GRIEVANCES)" in gold foil.

On the contrary, the very beating heart of NS foreign policy is inertia and underestimating the NPO. It's what binds us together.

No, it's not listening to the dribble that comes out of your mouth as you try to stay relevant in NS.
