Anyway, I see neither a NSA nor a Tom, the two that once made HYDRA Command briefly relevant despite McMannia, so let's just say I'm only cautiously optimistic about this reboot's success.

Unfortunately NSA's picture still adorns milk cartons everywhere. Maybe one day the mystery of where he went will be solved.

This. Tom and NSA made hydra great. Without them, it's just another attempt by subversives to beat a dead brand even deader.

People do get that the original hydra command had more than two staff members right? Yes Tom led the region during its most successful period, and his retirement coupled with NSA pulling an unexplained disappearing act (along with several talented officers immediately jumping ship) hampered the region in a way it never really recovered from (my inability to fully take the reigns and lead the region out of said tail spin due to emotionally traumatizing IRL issues I won’t get into on a public forum didn’t help either) but hydra command was more than just two people. It was a collective effort by a group of talented people with complimentary skills that added up to a successful team. Trying to recapture that with the original members (many of whom aren’t even ns players anymore) would be a fools errand and a waste of my time and theirs. We’re moving forward with a new team, and we’d appreciate it if everyone could stop with the “well toms not here so it’s doomed” comments.

As someone who was there, it was really honestly just Tom and NSA doing the brunt of the administrative work. Trever, Huo, and I did some tagging, but if you were to ask anyone who was an original member of Hydra Command's regular raiding team who the reason for success was, that answer would be Tom. You are right that it won't be the same, but wrong on essentially every other note. You have demonstrated that you are a subversive who is not qualified to lead a regular UCR, much less a raiding group. Even Varax's short stint as Director produced more than your years of work did.

Are you sure you’re using that term correctly? I don’t think that’s what a subversive is.

Anyway, fruit punch is on the table, please do not spike it with anything. The DJ will be here for the rest of the day, please feel free to enjoy the free snacks and drinks

Here's a short summary of why I consider you a subverisve:
Hijacking and tarnishing Hydra's name when it should have been left to die. You took advantage of a brand you had rights in name only to and used it for your own selfish purposes. I consider that subversion.

Honestly I think tartar sauce is kind of overrated, at least as far as dipping sauces go. I prefer dipping sauces with a bit more heat to them. Some spice.

Hijacking and tarnishing Hydra's name when it should have been left to die. You took advantage of a brand you had rights in name only to and used it for your own selfish purposes. I consider that subversion.

Damn right! But he didn't even have the naming rights!

Unlike DEN or The Invaders no permission was asked and none granted!

Last time I checked, hydra is trademarked property of marvel comics. So unless your name begins with Issac and ends with Perlmutter, you dont own the rights to it either. We dont claim to be the successors to some great region of old, because we are not the hydra of old. Hydra isnt something one can claim ownership to (unless you're marvel comics). Its an idea. A set of ideals that we exemplify through the act of raiding. If you're so concerned about the legacy of the hydra of long ago, why not join us and help us respect its memory, bring new glory to the all powerful banner of Hydra?

A poor argument frequently used by people with little understanding of the DEN and it's history (or in some cases, including moderation, willfully obtuse). The DEN was not a single region, it was a raider military that used about 10 different regions as home bases. Frequently in DEN history, there were outright revolts against leadership and the people revolting would move to a new region and operate out of there. DEN, The DEN, DEN II, DEN Military HQ, The DEN Base, DEN Central Command, DEN Army were just some that operated as active. These regions would operate concurrently. We didn't report them to moderation, there was an attitude that strength and activity gave you the right to operate and over time the better raiding DEN would be come to be known as the DEN. This is where your authority came from, and if you didn't raid you didn't have that authority.

So when I was not involved in raiding, I did not get in the way of a new DEN organization being created. I am not the founder of DEN, but I believe in the DEN ethos and view it as part as what made us great. How many regions and organization's grow into irrelevance as founders, admins, and delegates cling on to power instead of allow for the active to run the show? I even fell victim to my own hubris in a similar fashion in The South Pacific.

Sadly, the last phase of the DEN was run by cheaters. I believe that cheaters should be punished. I think cheating, especially the way they did, is incredibly lame. Both from an R/D and a political simulation perspective. I am one of the longest running critics of scripting and IT related tools being used in the game and think the game is worse for it.

I will never agree with the mickey mouse argument moderation used to ban the DEN name going forward as a form of collective punishing. It hinges on the argument that DEN was just a continuation of The Black Riders. And if that was the case, why would my name even be brought up in the conversation? I was never a member of TBR, and I never raided with that group of DEN players.

And I wish the new HYDRA the best of luck. Keep raidin'

Declaration of war

Due to the hostile actions taken by the NPO regime against allies of Hydra Command, we find it appropriate to declare war against The Pacific and any regions currently aligned with it. No quarter will be given, and hostilities shall not be ceased until such time as our government deems appropriate

Cut off one head, two more shall take its place.
Hail Hydra
