It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Ho, ho, ho! With winter started, it's time to turn our thoughts to Christmas! Of course, the little elves have been thinking about it all year, busy making preparations. But we still need a little assistance. Could you be Santa's little helper?

The Nice List

Do you know any good girls or boys that deserve special recognition? If you believe a nation or region you know has made a real difference to NationStates this year, please contact Little St Nick with the name and a few words of why they deserve to be on Santa's Nice List.

Advent Calendar

Be part of our countdown to Christmas! Send Little St Nick a link to a suitable picture, and we'll put it in our advent calendar. Like last year, each picture will also be flown as a flag above our region for a day.

A feast for all nations!

Saving the most delicious ideas until last - New this year is our Christmas Cookbook. Whether you choose a traditional Christmas pudding, or new sprout dishes, we are interested in hearing your best recipes, and GoodKingWenceslas would like to hear them. So bring us some figgy pudding, and bring it right here.

We'll be bringing you more festive events as the big day gets closer. Merry Christmas!

Under capitalism, the meaning of Christmas is shameless commercialism and rampant consumer spending, justified by appeals to higher values. But it is socialism, a system based on human need, that more properly embodies the “true meaning of Christmas”: concern for our fellow human beings, helping the poor and sick, peace and international solidarity. By taking the means of production out of the hands of the capitalist class and putting them into common ownership under democratic workers’ control, we can put society’s resources where they are most needed and build a future where the seasonal aspirations of the holiday can become a permanent reality.

After becoming the first nation in the South Pacific to be placed on the Naughty List in Beepee's Naughty or Nice List, 2018, Le Front de Liberation du Midand has retaliated by releasing the dreaded "A Marxist Interpretation of Christmas Carols" like a bomb on the RMB's of nationstates.

“All I Want for Christmas is You”
I don’t want a lot for Christmas
There’s just one thing I need.
I don’t care about presents
Underneath the Christmas tree.

— What these lyrics really mean: The proletariat is starting to revolt and is rejecting boorish materialism.

“Santa Claus is Coming to Town”
He sees you when you’re sleeping,
He knows when you’re awake.
He knows if you’ve been bad or good,
So be good for goodness sake!

— What these lyrics really mean: Constitutional protections and individual civil liberties have been annihilated under capitalism.

After seeing that picture, I now regard my theories that Father Christmas is an alter ego of Karl Marx, are true.

Ho ho ho! As all our little elves know, a good Christmas needs planned in advance. Our Advent calendar needs to be ready before 1st of December. We want to avoid having excited children opening the little doors and finding nothing behind!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas must be returned to the antebellum borders of the black friday agreement.

So this is Christmas and what have you done
Another year over, a new one just begun

And so this is Christmas, I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones, the old and the young

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one without any fears

And so this is Christmas for weak and for strong
For rich and poor ones, the road is so long

And so happy Christmas for black and for white
For yellow and red ones let's stop all the fights

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one without any fear

Another year over, a new one just begun

And so happy Christmas we hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones, the old and the young

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one without any fear

War is over if you want it, war is over now

Never Christmas will continue to grow until it consumes every day of the year. Just like that guy who treats every day as Christmas can't remember his name.

Last call for your suggestions for advent calendar pictures, recipes, and Nice List suggestions!

We've hung up our Advent Calendar. I can't wait until Saturday! What will be behind that first door?

We've potted our Christmas tree too - it's all ready to be decorated at the weekend. Drop by then, grab an egg-nog, and help us trim the tree.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I love it! It looks great!

We've started decorating our Christmas tree. Each decoration links to a nation on our Nice List.

The first two are German Holy Roman Empire and Deerfenland, who helped a friend who was feeling suicidal. German Holy Roman Empire also wrote a dispatch, linking to suicide helpline resources.

We've opened the second door of our advent calendar, and what do you know? It's also the first night of Channukah! So for tonight, we're serving latkes along with our traditional sprouts.

We've a game of Emoji Charades going on - your welcome to take a guess, or maybe add your own puzzle.
