Lenlyvit: I guess I could say that the reason I ran for the Delegacy again was to help rebuild the WA area of XKI.

Lenlyvit: My vision is for XKI to be a stronger force in the WA, to have a bigger impact and influence on proposals than it does now. That includes working with other regions on projects and understanding how they handle their WA aspects as well.

On a Violation of Sovereignty

10000 Islands Foreign Affairs Statement: On a Violation of Sovereignty

Members of the NationStates community,

10000 Islands is a region that has existed for decades, surviving throughout the history of NationStates alongside the regions we know of as GCRs (Game Created Regions). Throughout almost our entire existence we have operated as a defender bastion, fighting against the likes of raiders to protect the sovereignty of regions they've attacked. 7 days ago it was brought to our attention that two raider regions, The Brotherhood of Malice and The Communist Bloc, targeted The North Pacific for what is known as a "Delegate bump". This resulted in the removal of the rightfully elected delegate, Chipoli, being removed from their duly-elected position and being replaced by the Vice-Delegate Pallaith.

While our region and The North Pacific have had our ups and downs in our relationship over the years we will still stand with them in their right to sovereignty, their right to self governance and their right to not have their region attacked and borders violated. As a result we have decided to take certain actions against the regions in question over their violation of sovereignty in a region that 10000 Islands has coexisted with for nigh on 20 years. While raider individuals are already banned from entry into our territories and offsite platforms, and therefore we cannot take any actions there, there are actions we can take and those are the following:

  1. 10000 Islands will oppose any and all World Assembly resolutions put forth by members of these communities, be they General Assembly or Security Council related. Both regions will be added to our World Assembly blacklist for opposing resolutions authored or co-authored by any individual of either region.
  2. 10000 Islands will also support and vote for resolutions repealing resolutions authored or co-authored by members of the sanctioned regions/organizations, oppose and vote against World Assembly resolutions nominating members of the sanctioned regions/organizations for commendation/condemnation, and support and vote for resolutions repealing resolutions nominating members of the sanctioned regions/organizations for commendation/condemnation.
  3. 10000 Islands community members will not attend any cultural function in any organization or region that includes members of The Brotherhood of Malice or The Communist Bloc, forgoing participation with regions that would violate the sovereignty of The North Pacific. We will make an exception to this where treaty obligations require cultural obligations, allowing community members to attend cultural activities in neutral locations.

These actions will take effect immediately. Long live XKI! Long live TNP!

Correction: There is a case to suggest Chipoli is the rightful delegate, but by no means is he the rightfully elected Delegate. Chipoli took over after Gorundu resigned in disgrace. I know you don't read all that much anymore, but this is just poor research.

You've literally already said you'll do this to TCB. Nothing has changed.

10000 Islands community members will not attend any cultural function in any organization or region that includes members of The Brotherhood of Malice or The Communist Bloc, forgoing participation with regions that would violate the sovereignty of The North Pacific.

That's fine, we weren't going to invite you to our 10th Birthday Party anyway.

In other news, TCB remains totally unaffected by the pathetic 'sanctions' defender extremists attempt to throw at us. This is why you don't play your entire fucking hand too early.

If we're going to get all pedantic here, Chipoli was elected Vice Delegate, which enabled his role in the line of succession at all. So, per the results of TNP's May 2023 General Election, and the legal systems in place with how to handle elected offices, Chipoli is only rightful Delegate because of said election.

This is of course something really dumb to argue about at all for both of us.

Correct. I was never elected Delegate, but due to our legal mechanisms, I am the lawful Delegate nonetheless.

I mean, it's not a point of pedantry: there is a legitimate hit to a democratic mandate when a head of government resigns and is replaced by a deputy who was not elected to be the head of government, as mid-term resignations are generally unexpected. Certainly, they still have a mandate, but it's weaker, which is likely why TNP holds snap elections upon a Delegate resignation if there aren't already some coming up soon.

All this makes the 'rightfully elected' line feel poorly researched.
