Didn't read it because I wasn't in the best headspace Friday night but I knew what needed to be done. Frankly, it's whatever anyways. I don't have any ill will to LWU (perhaps surprisingly). I knew that, at the end of the day, our relationship can be split into "strictly business" and the personal and what they did was, well, "strictly business".

gotta say, I kind of respect the honesty of this. speaking for myself if I approved my name being put on a statement without reading it then later it turned out I disagreed with the statement and also I was on blast for putting my name on the statement I absolutely would not admit that in public XD. I'd be taking that secret to the grave, or at least saving it for a funny story years down the road.

I mean, what I'm presuming happened is that HumanSanity drafted it, the statement was then communicated to the defender leaders as "hey, please sign this real quick", and without reading it that closely, it was approved. Perhaps some names were even added to it without those people having read it. Who knows?

Still doesn't explain stuff like the GK double down in the original thread though.

But seriously, yeah, lol, I'd never sign something - in general, but especially on behalf of my region, especially in the context of a crisis response statement, and ESPECIALLY on the sole behalf of my region, without at least *reading* it, accepting that I was okay with endorsing the content, and probably looking for any phrasing to nitpick (as possible to read poorly, etc) even if I am ready to endorse the merits. It's hard to perceive "yeah I didn't read it and did sign it, mb" as anything short of abject negligence (while "I agreed and signed it without consulting any of my other regional leaders" or "we all agreed with it at the time but after seeing the fallout have changed our minds" are different problems) that I would expect to be facing a firing or a resignation over, personally.

One has to question the sincerity of XKI actually rebuilding the relationship with TNP if one can actually just sign off a blank cheque to agree to any statement concerning TNP without having a read at its contents

Really though, I agree with Wasc and Bob in the sense that I can somewhat admire how forthright some of you guys are being now that this situation has blown up in your faces.
