The thread's been actively used for stuff within TSP's sphere but not directly affiliated for the government pretty regularly. The Southern Onion, for example, has no affiliation or sponsorship from TSP's government.

I think it's great that we're using our threat to promote all opportunities coming out of TSP, and think this Event Services Discord is a great idea to help people develop and learn how to throw NS events

Yup. There are a ton of ways that her post belongs in this thread. Thankfully there's no thread ownership in NSGP. Hopefully Glen's 'request' to split off the post in moderation goes ignored.

No, it’s not a TSP thing. This isn’t endorsed by or affiliated with TSP. In fact, the Cabinet is not particularly happy that Escade is co-opting this embassy thread to advertise her own independent project. It’s adspam, plain and simple. It doesn’t belong in this thread, any more than it would belong in TNP’s embassy thread.

In reality, this is a side project for Escade, because she’s in a feud with TSP’s Minister of Tegional Affairs. She’s created her own private “event service” to compete with officially sanctioned TSP events, and is trying to utilize TSP’s image and infrastructure to advertise for it. When asked not to do it, she claimed she owns this thread and can post whatever she wants in it.

Also, for the record, The Southern Onion was created by MoRA a long time ago.

Just for the sake of accuracy, I created the Southern Onion as the parody branch of the Southern Journal. It is most definitely a state-owned outlet, managed by the Ministry of Regional Affairs.

Regardless of whether Escade's independent festival service belongs here or not, it's misleading to compare it to the Southern Onion posting in this thread, because government resources would normally have an unambiguous right to be promoted here.

Currently, I read the "Escade Event Services" as a personal endeavor that is not related to TSP. The relation to TSP comes from the fact that Escade's experience in event planning is within the region. I think there are ways to reword things to make it fit within the TSP embassy thread like if TSP, as a region, was providing a service to other individuals and regions. However, as it stands, I am not seeing that. It comes off like its own project not directly related to TSP. This does not mean that the project doesn't sound like a great idea. Simply that as it stands, it is in enough of a grey area that it doesn't seem to make the most sense within this thread.

If this is a service that TSP is providing through Escade, then I'd ask for the advertisement to be a little more clear in the original post. If it is a personal project outside of TSP, then the it will be split from this thread and given its own thread.

Speaking as Prime Minister of The South Pacific with the whole Cabinet in agreement, this service is neither part of, affiliated with, or endorsed by the government of the South Pacific. This is indeed a personal project outside of TSP. Created by a prominent TSPer, but outside of TSP. There were some initial miscommunications about this post, which have since been clarified. She has already been privately asked to remove it, and refused.

As I noted, it appeared that this was a personal endeavor (which was something that at least myself and another mod noted on our own before the fact). I wasn't aware thread ownership was a thing in the Gameplay forum, or is this a privilege that is solely extended to just the game created regions?

This was a case of TSP ganging up on Escade to get it split from the topic for being off-topic, even though the same people are normally okay with off-topic bullshit.
Only reason they cared this time is because a few of their oligarchs aren't getting along with Escade right now.

Jakker either didn't catch on to the fact TSP was using the mods to bully someone for OOC reasons, or didn't care.

There is no thread ownership in gameplay. But Escade's post had no place in that thread. It had, by her own admission, absolutely nothing to do with TSP except that she is from TSP and thinks of it as a party region. Escade also apparently has no problem with the split. Escade didn't receive any type of warning over the split. If gently enforcing the rules in such a way that the person on the receiving end doesn't mind is facilitating bullying then I guess we as mods have a lot to answer for. There's no further point to this particular thread anyways, moderation discussions belong in moderation, Escade doesn't seem to want to appeal the decision to a larger panel of mods, so iLock.
