Mu-Bah-Daggs Productivity Index

Today, the Agriculture Sector is the featured ranking. It is measured along the "Mu-Bah-Daggs Productivity Index".

For awhile now, I have wondered about this name; it is about the only name for a ranking I have not been able to glean meaning from.

But today, while once again seeing it at the bottom of my homepage and pondering, I think I may have stumbled on some sort of answer (if a silly one):

"Mu" being the sound of a cow (Moo)
"Bah" being the sound of a sheep (Baah)
"Daggs" being an accented version of "Dog"

Is it this simple? Anyone else have any thoughts or theories?

If this is it, I believe they should rename it the "Bah Ram Ewe Index"

I looked it up and there are a bunch of people by the last name of Daggs that seem to be involved in different ways with agriculture (in the U.S. anyway)...

Something tells me that this might not be what inspired the Daggs part of the name, but who knows? Your guess is as good as mine. Good luck in your hunt for answers though!

I'm actually glad to be likely wrong...it seemed rather silly. I'll keep an eye out and an ear to the ground, and maybe I'll discover something else.

Had a quick google, good question.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Dagg is my guess, as Max is an Aussie, with Australia and NZ sharing a lot of culture, and is about a stereotypical farming thing. The author moved to Aussie and Dagg was fairly famous (that said, I hadn't heard of him, but a bit before my time).

Mubah is an Arabic word meaning "permitted", which has technical uses in Islamic law.


In conjunction with Bears Armed's interpretation of Daggs, that kinda works overall.
